Oh the good old days of Republicans stealing presidential elections. Norah O'Donnell filling in for Chris Matthews and the panel of Dan Rather, Katy Kay, Kelly O'Donnell and Richard Stengel yuck it up over the ten year old coverage of the Florida recount debacle and Saturday Night Live's parody of Chris Matthews interviewing Katherine Harris.

Whoever thought that the Supreme Court would decide our election in 2000 and in 2010 we'd be taking our shoes off and getting felt up at the nations airports, have torture and no longer be protected by the Bill of Rights. My how things change. Amazing how we adapt to such changes and how many get conditioned to the criminals. We must resist this.

As I recall (I live in Florida), Katherine became a one-term congresswoman. She didn't get the Washington appointment she so clearly wanted and thought she had earned (wink,wink).

When John Bolton went busting into that room in Florida screaming, "I'm with the Bush/Cheney team and I'm here to STOP THE COUNT!" I could not believe my eyes.
How the Supreme Court could possibly stop the state of Florida from counting their own election ballots was a shock to me.
Then when the certification of the election in the Senate happened and "Sen." Al Gore had to preside, does anyone recall many members of the House attempting to STOP THE RE-CERTIFICATION and Gore refused?! What a coward.
The irony in all of this is that when the group of national reporters ended up going to Florida to preside over a recount of some counties ballots (can't recall if this was led by Greg Palast??) about a year later, it was discovered that in fact Gore HAD won the state of Florida!!!!!

"troubling" is so over-rated and over used. this isn't troubling. It's criminal. troubling is when traffic is busy or the lights aren't going your way. Criminal calls for action, not just passivity like the feeling of "troubling" leads to. It's a poor excuse and politicians have used that word way too much over the course of the Bush administration and this last decade.
