Brad Blakeman: We Freed 50 Million People From Iraq
I'll repeat what Jeremy Scahill said about this. "What the hell is this idiot talking about?" Another non-reality based fake debate on MSNBC with both sides spouting ridiculous talking points.

Hard to be free
When you're confined to a coffin.
But seriously folks, some of them don't want to be free of Iraq
Just maybe Saddam
And to be able to come home from surrounding regions.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
WHEN WILL SOMEBODY FREE AMERICA?
After they unstick your cap key?
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
;-)
'Talk to the hand'
Thanks.
Can I have that 00:52 back?
"I can't keep doing this on my own with these...people."
the population of Iraq when Bush invaded was only around 25 million or so. Is this more of the repub math?
Population of Iraq is 28,945,657 (July 2009 est.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq
Wiki puts their population at 31,000,000 in 2009.
Nice observation on a blatant, easily avoidable lie.
By his calculation, 19,000,000 Iraqis have either died or left the country since we freed them.
Maybe Al Quida recruited the 19 million back to fight in Pakistan or the US will be using them to build the pipelines just like a large population of Chinese built the railroads back in the day.
in Iraq! Before the war there was between 25 to 30 million, after the 5 million refuges fled the country it's less now than that. Blakeman is an idiot. Why the hell didn't the other 2 on screen pick up on that?
Goodnight, Frau Blücher
He doesn't care that you or I think he's an idiot because he figures informed bloggers are a minority he can ignore. He only wants to fool a dumbed down population into thinking they are heros. He knows it's BS. Bush went into Iraq for oil and to set up a puppet government subservient to US imperialism. Anyone with half a brain knows that.
Is it the 21st century yet?
I watched closely. She had virtually no reaction to his blatant lie about freeing let alone the number.
Why? Two choices:
1. She didn't catch it
2. Any kind of visible reaction was suppressed for the purpose of the script and the message the editor is trying to convey.
There was just a huge suicide bombing in Iraq last week. It is difficult to find a story about it even on the web and the MSM did such a thorough job of suppressing the story that it lets liars like this guy get away with telling fairy tales of peace and freedom in Iraq.
Spreading freedom economically, the USA.
How many more people do we need to free?
He's not an idiot, just a very deceptive, wicked man. In other words a typical 'thuglican.
Is it the 21st century yet?
Official census is closer to maybe 28.9 million Iraqis, but hard to know given millions were forced to flee the country and by some estimates as many as 1 million have died. Takes a right-wing prick to exaggerate the number by almost double.
Not sure what free means. Exchanged one dictator for another. Country now heavily influenced by Iran if not controlled by Iran. Many woman now have to wear the burka in Iraq. Gays are now being executed for being gay.
Heavily influenced or controlled by Iran? As opposed to the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel?
Leave IRAN out of this because all this statement does is feed into the warmongers plans to attack Iran for their so-called meddling in Iraq. IF Iran does not get nuclear technology, the United States or one of its allies WILL attack Iran.
"IF Iran does not get nuclear technology"
Iran does have nuclear technology.
They have working uranium enrichment facilities.
Iran also does have huge influence in Iraq.
Actually Iran is the winner of our actions in Iraq. Getting rid of Saddam was a gift to Iran.
"I know that there are people who do not love their fellow
man, and I hate people like that! " ~ Tom Lehrer (1928 - )
I know I really meant to say nuclear weapons capability. Thanks for clarifying.
And yes, Iran does have huge influence in Iraq, but I refuse the notion that they have control over the Iraqi government. Getting rid of Saddam was the least the US could do since the CIA helped put him in power in the first place.
Well our candidate Ahmed Chalabi (Curveball) lost, and who got voted in?
A Shiite, Nouri Al Maliki. And the Shiites were a persecuted majority of the Sunnis who were a minority in power.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
...And Iran is majority Shiite.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
And our occupation gives Iran more incentive to be defensive.
The people of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material part of their advantage." J.K. Galbraith
That would be like if during the Cold War Russia had troops in England.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
And all of that oil didn't just disappear.
The people of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material part of their advantage." J.K. Galbraith
YS,
Think Cuba in 10/62
The people of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material part of their advantage." J.K. Galbraith
I was.
But I think the average American would be more concerned about the English than the Cubans, it was just Cuba being something like 90 miles off-shore of Florida that made it big.
And as far as I know there were no troops, just missiles.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
Missals=missiles?
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
I don't think Chalabi was "Curveball". I think that name was given to another less well-known fabricator.
If a drone kills a child in Kandahar, do the crying parents make a sound?
I think the U.S. has far less influence on Iraq than Iran does. I am not sure many in Iraq are happy that their mortal enemy Iran is now likely controlling many aspects of their life. And I am doubly sure Irais are even less happy with this given that since the election Iran has now been taken over in a coup by its military.
Either way I think we agre that the Iraqi people are getting crapped on regardless of who is doing it.
But we're bringing freedumb and De-mock-racy?
They should be thanking us, they're lucky we take the time to bomb them.
:)

and my tooth aches from all the candy the Iraqis showered us with!
ZZZZactly!
lol

man, and I hate people like that! " ~ Tom Lehrer (1928 - )
They are NOT mortal enemies both Countries mayorities are SHIITES
US and Israel have been wanting to BOMB Iran for many years and as a result its goverment turn to a more repressive one.
The WESTERN powers are happy with this confrontation since they dream also with Iranian OIL and a nationalistic IRAN is out of their control.
Well there's two useless twats I really never want to hear from again.
It's not up to us. Ask the Iraqis.
And exactly what is (was) the population of Iraq? Last I heard it was around 25 million. So this fool might have well said we freed 12 billion people. That sounds much better.
Also, any mention of the number of people killed, widowed, orphaned, maimed, or misplaced as a result of our "freeing" them?
This is the evasion and escape from reality all these war-mongering Republicans have to display. The invasion was illegal and cost hundreds of thousands, if not a million +, lives, not to mention the wasted money. Glossing over their actions is akin to removing the smell from a pile of rotting corpses.
I did the math using costofwar.com. Using real population statistics, that works out to over $25,000 per Iraqi to be free. And there is a maintenance fee involved to keep them free.
This is fucking sick people.
But MSNBC is the progressive station?
ROFL!
Off button is necessary.
Watching these "news" channels will rot your brain.

if we couldn't waste one third of our lives away watching a tube?
Shoot each other for sport. bring back the wild wild west.
Mika Brzezinski talking about how tough she had it when she lost her job with CBS.
Sorry, couldn't watch the propaganda, but sounds to me like the talking heads were repeating tommie friedman's obnoxious, jingoistic, and frightening meme of a few weeks ago when he talked about how much we've done for muslims in the last two decades.

Oh yeah, they are much better now that under the scumbag Saddam Hussein. Even though he was a scumbag and vicious the country was better off than it is now. The infrastructure of the country is worthless, the oil industry is worthless, millions of people murdered, the government is more corrupt than under Saddam, the Iranians influence the government and are taking over the region, people are poorer, the whole country is worse off. The thing that is even worse is that our country is much worse off because of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld war games. I wish I could spit on this Brad Blakeman freak.
It was a neocon dream. Build the country from scratch, no unions, no labor laws, potential wealth in oil.
L. Paul Bremmer set it all up and BAM.
The dream is realized as a nightmare.
The cons just failed - simple as that.

Yeah, they forgot to take into account that peole do not always want to play your game. In this instance the Iraqi people didnd't want to play the neocon game just as the Afghans didn't want to play the Russian game just as they are not wanting to play the U.S. game. It is amazing how difficult things can be when the people don't wnat to play along. They throw a monkey wrench into the machine.
If we freed 50M people FROM Iraq, where did we put them?
If we freed 50M people IN Iraq, that too is wrong. There weren't that many.
If you need funds to pay for essentials, you have a revenue problem
If you need funds to pay for frivolity, you have a spending problem
If you love somebody, set them free.
If he come back, he is yours,
if he doesn't, he never was.
If you need funds to pay for essentials, you have a revenue problem
If you need funds to pay for frivolity, you have a spending problem
The GOPher is counting two tours of freedumb for most Iraqis.
One BEFORE "Mission Accomplished" and another full tour after.
Simple as that!

what are we going to do with it all?
so they're kindly signing over the oil rights to the major oil corporations.
will be free to learn to fly one day...
but maybe not land.

"Another non-reality based fake debate on MSNBC with both sides spouting ridiculous talking points."-
totally. all these so called pundits just pull facts out of their ass.......... on all the infotainment channels.....
did was mandate a single payer government run health insurance system in their constitution.
..is to Free People Everywhere from all forms of Religion.
Help them to understand that They are responsible for their lives, not some Gawd that is a figment of their collective imagination.
I'm sure we'd still find lots of reasons to kill each other - but it would eliminate the major cause of human misery and maybe encourage more cooperation - cooperation we'll need if we are to solve the really Big problems we face, and maybe help ensure the survival of the human race on Earth.
"Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of Stupidity" - Frank Leahy
I know what this idiot was talking about!
WE freed 50 million people from the mundane life they had and killed injured and made many more homeless.
So you see we did free these people from ever having the chance at a normal life!
republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness that is killing America and any place else it comes into contact with.
Man I hate these assholes!
if they hate us for our freedoms...
then aren't we going to make them hate themselves?
Stop you'll make their brains hurt.
The people of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material part of their advantage." J.K. Galbraith
What do you mean WE, Brad. Blakeman is just another cowardly neo-conservative Jewish-American who wants America to fight Israel's wars.
Our troops are not cannon fodder for these assholes. REmember it was a veteran not a politican that provides you with free speech. It is time to restore veterans benefits stolen by Bush and assist needy vets.
... it is politicians that provided you with free speech. The founding fathers were wearing their politician hats when they wrote the constitution.
So there is a bit of difference between upholding, defending, and providing. I think...
For some reason in this country, we love to idolatrize the troops as the providers of stuff and achievements they have nothing to do with. But then again, given that we spend more of our budget on defense than any other item, and our defense budget is larger than the rest of the world combined... I can see how some people are desperate to imagine larger returns for our money, than we really get when wasting money on bombs and multi billion stealth bombers.
permanently "freed" from their lives?
That was their greatest achievement, hard to believe he left it out...
Did he mention that it was all done unnecessarily, immorally, and illegally? I think that is important to include in the discussion.
Another delusional lunatic , that's all. Can we expect anything else from these people ?
We liberated them from their bodies! USA, USA, USA!
"We Freed 50 Million People From Iraq"
Saddam was aborted and USA is the new baby never intending to leave.
What do you mean "We" you fucking chickenhawk?
It's simple. After we invaded, the partisan fighting caused 50 million people to leave Iraq. Guess he thinks that's a good thing.
yeah... so I'm not the only one that knows that little tidbit...
I'm not even going to waste my time watching the video... so ignore if they address what i'm about to say...
but are those the millions of Iraqis who fled their country once we put them in our sights?
