Bill Kristol Claims That Republicans Haven't Politicized National Security

Bill Kristol isn't happy that John Brennan accussed the Republicans of playing politics with national security so of course his response is to claim it's actually the Democrats playing politics and claim that the Repubicans would never do that. His proof, they support the president on Iraq and Afghanistan. If I had a dollar for every time the Republicans played the terrorist fear mongering card for political gain I'd be a rich person. As David noted they've been playing this game since 9-11 and don't like that they're finally being called out for it.

They good thing here is that it appears that most of the people on the shows don't like the Cheney duo. A couple weeks ago on the ABC Sunday show they pretty much ignored Lizard. It also seems that most of the comments about Dick are negative. Of course this isn't true of Fox but really who cares about Fox. They are in last place on Sunday and the only people who think they have any credibility are the 20%ers and David Gregory.

He wants a surge in Afghanistan? No problem. He might not get us out of Iraq? No problem. So, it's not like we're politicizing anything. As for other issues, like how he wants to close Gitmo and stop torturing people, well, it's just a policy disagreement. And we're happy to debate him by calling him un-American, and to point out how he's making us less safe. Besides, they're the ones talking about all the things Bush did wrong. They're not allowed to bring that up. Geez, our side goes out of our way not to blame Bush, so why does their side have to?

All I can say is...whatever Kristol was high on which made him think that most Americans will take this claim seriously, it must have been some mighty powerful stuff (which is probably why he chose to say it on FOX News...because he knows nobody else would listen to him).
