Ari Melber and Joe Watkins square off on MSNBC over the comments recently made by Karl Rove accusing Joe Biden of lying about his conversation with George Bush. I think Melber hits the nail on the head as to what they're doing.

Melber: What you have here are Bush's aides attacking Barack Obama and Joe Biden here on security and it's really disgusting. What they've been doing is trying to bet on another attack. And Dick Cheney of course said well we're less safe and then we've got Karl Rove.... (crosstalk)

You had Cheney saying we're less safe and you have Rove attacking Biden. And what you also have on the same track here is a lot of serious reports about torture and abuse at Guantanamo and what they're trying to do is politicize all this and keep all of us distracted talking about who's a liar and who attacked instead of keep our eye on the ball. You had the Red Cross report out this week saying that the Bush administration tortured at Guantanamo. That's what Dick Cheney's nervous about.

I agree with him. Rove speaks and the talking heads fall right in line and "report" on it all day long as though there's nothing else to talk about. Rove has absolutely no credibility but the main stream media is more than willing to fill their air time with his talking points as though they're valid. Rove is planning on the media continuing to do that in the event we are attacked. My guess is he'll get his wish.

Yesterday I turned off cable news. For ever.

Precisely for the reason you articulate...the mainstream media's ongoing megaphoning of Rove-Chee-knee outright bullshit lost me for good.

Enough.

... who've spent the last 4 years trying to run us "tin foil hatters" off these threads beginning to develop some sense of why we consider educating our fellow americans about the history of false flag terrorism of grave importance?

are any of you who mock us as "kool-aid chuggers" beginning to develop an inkling of why we consider an independent 9/11 investigation A MATTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY?

yes im still here froggy!

bullfrog's picture

how ya doin', dawg?

i think you slightly misread what i wrote -it was addressed to those who've tried to run the tin-foil hatters off the threads.

you're every bit the hysterical kook that i am, so it wasn't addressed to you.

but good to hear from you, son!!

MountainMan23's picture

I'm still here ..

And so are the persons responsible for the 9-11 attacks.

Democracy is too important to be entrusted to politicians.
Rise Up!
Protest!

calgarylady's picture

and it makes me sick that those responsible for 9-11 will get away with it.

Anybody else having problems with the video? I'm getting an error message.

Yes

the link is on the blink!

and just fixed it. The wmv is playing now. The mov should be working shortly. Sorry about that.

The link is working now. Many thanks!

What the media should be doing is insisting on the public's right to know, and to demand accountability from everyone, top to bottom. If they'd been doing their job, Cheney and Rove would be in jail instead of on national TV.

KWillow's picture

I believe they are trying to instigate an attack. Not just the wingnuts cutting loose with their rifles and magnum 44's on Liberals, but on Muslims or Muslim-appearing persons (remember the man throwing poison into a Mosque) and hopefully (to Rove-Cheney etc.) getting a violent reaction.

They really would love them some Race Wars.

Hey, its Rove/Cheney; they any and more wars. And the bastards are doubling down on any future attack. If it were Dems saying this after 9/11 there would have been a hue and cry by the MSM like you have never heard. Mofos

in the GOP talk radio monopoly- the one's that will mobilize the dittoheads in a chorus of purposefully missinformed and well timed attacks on proponents of thoughtful problem solving and democratic dialogue.

getplaning's picture

is more important to them than American lives. They NEED another terrorist event so they can say they were right, even though they know they are wrong.

Prosecute torure! Prosecute war crimes! NOW!

bullfrog's picture

failure to do so will condemn your children to a far worse scenario for america than the one we are presently in.

i've said it before, and i'll say it again: when that dumb bastard gerald ford got all the nixonite crooks and liars off the hook, he condemned my generation to this big, giant clusterfuck we find america in presently.

to not prosecute those who may have committed war crimes in america's name will only embolden future terrorists. whoever tomorrow's david addington or john yoo will be will almost certainly attempt even more heinous atrocities.

Yeah Dick Cheney, the guy who Americans hate more then Charles Manson, yeah that's the guy whose opinion we really give a shit about. Stupid MSM.

bullfrog's picture

it's funny, i didn't see ol' big dick throwing any 1st pitches out this baseball season.

could the 45,000 or so fans in washington who gave him the old bronx cheer a few years back have made a lasting impression?

When Karl Rove appears on Fox News the network should be charged for harboring a fugitive. This guy should be on trial for treason.

This is not my father's America

mikeyrstx's picture

are hoping for another attack, that way they can say "Look, we weren't ass-raping you, we were protecting your anus with our freedom wand"

Out of the closet Rove can't remember because he was on his kneepads kneeling in front of Dumbya.

Cheney and the Bush administration has done more to harm our country then any previous persons in our history...
They have given cause for Bin Laden to receive 100 fold recuits they would have ever dreamt of..
They have distroyed our honor , democracy , freedom and the support of foreign countries.
Our intelligents has been destroy along with destroying all safety nets we should have to protect our nation..
Foreign countries now control our manufacturing , servicing and securitu of our military , building of our military equipment and the security of our boarders and ports..
Yet Cheney should know that we are in for a h... of a lot of revenge for the criminal actions in which Bush / Cheney has taken..

Indeed, Al Queada has hit every few years, and they are more empowered than ever now, thanks to CheneyCo. So another attack is likely.

But whether we are hit again or not (although ESPECIALLY so), it's time for these war criminals Cheney and Rove to go to jail.

Floridiot's picture

if I was in the Obama administration, I would be keeping a pretty close watch on them neo-cons overseas activities right about now.
They are about as un American as you can get.

Marc's picture

From a purely strategic standpoint, Rove and Cheney are relatively smart in their actions. Given that:

A) Nobody in their right mind trusts either of them at ALL, and Cheney is one of the most (the most?) unpopular vice presidents in history. And...

B) There's a well-above-zero chance that there will be another foreign terrorist attack on US soil in the next four years...

...why NOT talk it up as if you can see it coming? After all, if somehow Obama lucks out and nothing happens, then it's not like anybody with sense was listening to them anyway, and with the ADD of the media they'll probably never get called on it anyway. And if something does happen, which it probably will, then they get to look like they were all smart and prescient.

Let's not forget here that it's entirely possible some foreign nutcase will launch an attack inside the US in the next four years, maybe Al Quaida financed, maybe not. Not to disrespect people working on national security, but the main reason that there weren't any credible foreign attack attempts was because it was in Osama/whoever's best interest to keep Bush popular, since he and his war in Iraq were the best recruiting tool they'd ever had, and they were causing far more financial and manpower drain on the country over there than they could ever hope to here.

And this is leaving out domestic terrorists like the never-caught Anthrax mailer (oh, wait, that wasn't terrorism because he/she was probably white and a born citizen?), who will in all likelihood step up the pace thanks to Obama paranoia, not even realizing that they're just as much terrorists as the people they misguidedly think they're "protecting" us from by trying to destabilize Obama's government.

Anyway, let's not be surprised when something foreign DOES happen. It'll be interesting to see how people react when it does.

?

SEE it coming?

how about FACILLITATE?

ever heard of a "false flag"?

Sec_Humanist's picture

There won't be another attack because Bush and the shadow government are no longer in power.

"Secular humanism -- a fearless, realistic world view replete with doubt and scepticism that attempts to attain an unachievable state of equilibrium between and among the human qualities of reason, intuition, imagination, memory, ethics and common sense.

If this would be democrats BS or democrats demonstrating about the Bush administration , Bush and republicans would have declared Marshal law and they would be in a prison somewhere in this world..

There is only one reason for the employees of Fox news and other republicans to be making these statements,, and that is to rally people to overthrow our government , their leaders and and for civil disorder.

It is one thing to express one's opinion and another to rally civil unrest with lies , BS and propaganda..
Fox news and the republicans no longer know how to speak the truth because there is no punishment for their lies , deceit and BS...

Have Americans forgotten that 911 happen on Bush/Cheney watch..

And they were told in advance that something was to happen and that planes were an issue in terrorist activities.
Bush was too busy on his ranch getting lawyers to purge Clinton's policies which stopped the pollution of our air , water , land and safety standards Clinton had put in place to protect workers..

Not "if/whether" but "when."

If it makes a big enough noise --death, destruction, damage, etc-- it will certainly spark calls for, and very likely the iomposition of, martial law.

We should be talking about this...

The stench continues to foul the place. It's long past time to flush Karl and Dick for the health of the country.

Joe Watkins has always been a minor league Michael Steele, as if that's not minor league enough.

It's not all or nothing.

Heather thanks for putting this up there. There are two things that the Republicans are betting on. One is that the economy will continue to falter under Obama and that there will be a terrorist attack soon or before the next election. This should be said over and over that the republicans are betting on failure and an attack. It is the only thing that they have. They offer no viable solutions. The Democrats have to position themselves accordingly and this means that they have to inform he public that this is what the Republicans are betting on. Scream it from the roofs over and over so if the attack happens people will be ready.

Donaldd's picture

"Would never say anything like that to a sitting president." Evidently the Nutcase hasn't seen Obama frown and cringe at some of Biden's remarks.

George Soros is small potatoes compared to Richard Ailes and Rupert Murdoch's support for Republicans and the self proclaimed "Conservatives". Perhaps some real attacks on their Benefactors would clear the air.
