Tebow: Politics 'Could Be Something in My Future'
In Denver, they call Tim Tebow the "Mile High Messiah," but could Americans one day also be calling him president?
Speaking to the Golf Channel's David Feherty on Saturday, the Denver Broncos starting quarterback said that running for office was not out of the question.
"You know for me, it could be something in my future," Tebow explained. "It's something I'll have to think about and if I pray about, you know, I have no idea right now. But possibly."
"It's just a question of names," Feherty said. "We've got Mitt and Newt."
"Do what?" Tebow replied quizzically.
"I mean, why not go with Statler and Waldorf," Feherty joked, referring to two characters from The Muppet Show. "I mean, really. President Tim, that's working for me."
"Who knows what the future holds," Tebow shrugged.

I detest religious douche bags like Tebow.
Has Tim Tebow ever done anything to you other than wish and pray for you to have a wonderful life?
Your hatred is really irrational.
"Better." It's what we should ask of ourselves and of our leaders.
in one spot.
Not Tebow - Tebowmania.
Let me translate this clip.
INTERVIEWER: Have you ever considered running for office?
(Audience applause)
TIM TEBOW'S BRAIN: Aw, c'mon, guy; I'm 24 years old, rising in my profession and having the time of my life. Are you freaking serious? Oh God, he IS serious. Guess I gotta put on my Respect the Crazy Person face and say ...
TIM TEBOW'S MOUTH: Oh, I don't know; I'd have to think about it and pray about it. Maybe.
INTERVIEWER: No, really, you should. (Drools slightly) Because you're big and strong and (drools more) sort of athletic and - and - you love Jebus and - (wipes chin) - well, I don't know anything else about you, but what other qualifications for high office could there possibly be?
(Widespread applause)
TIM TEBOW'S BRAIN: OK, Tim, remember that time you were on the bus with your mom and the homeless guy in the seat in front of you crapped his pants and you told your mom you smelled something awful and she said not to say anything and you couldn't help it and said "BUT THAT GUY JUST CRAPPED HIS PANTS!" and he turned around and yelled at you? This is like that. Don't engage; just say something noncommittal and get this interview over with ...
TIM TEBOW'S MOUTH: Um, sure, I guess it could be in my future ...
(Audience goes completely bananas)
TIM TEBOW'S BRAIN: ... is this interview over with yet?
In other news, I find it very "interesting" that The Golf Channel has hosts who call the GOP "we." For that matter, I was also unaware of Tim Tebow's illustrious golfing career.
Tim Tebow couldn't touch top NFL rookie Cam Newton's jock strap. This willful rightwing Evangelical dildo is nothing but a propagandist tool for assholes who actually believe that Jesus is on their team's side. At the University of Florida "superstar" Tebow was surrounded by a treasure of NFL caliber players who made his ass look good on a regular basis(of course Timmy stole all of the credit) As an NFL player, when Tebow performs well God is channeling through him, when he fucks up(quite often, especially in that playoff game versus the Patriots) Christians STFU.
I cannot wait to see the reactions from these insane hypocrite christian fucks when a Black Muslim athlete shouts "Allah Akbar" after scoring a touchdown.
Dude's got a future in broadcasting when he retires. Same with Jennings.
ETA: And Donald Driver, as well.
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust.
...didn't put all out in the Pro Bowl?
The fucking Pro Bowl.
"Yeah, the game's a sham- the league should give money back to the ticket-holders"?
Either play with a bit more enthusiasm or dump the game. I wouldn't miss it.
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust.

Thank you for your enlightening expression. I am sick and tired of these racist hypocrites.
"I cannot wait to see the reactions from these insane hypocrite christian fucks when a Black Muslim athlete shouts "Allah Akbar" after scoring a touchdown."
Of course if this commenter doesn't object, then he's a hypocrite as well.
Don't blame Jesus for every bad thing Christians do unless you're willing to credit him for the good things.

...not some asshole manipulating the spectacle to pimp or impose his religious beliefs on me...any religion.
If there is a Hell, you can go there.
...would get him a lot of praise by me. (I don't wish him the same fate by the way.)
Jack Kemp's records.

Big City Mayor
if he decided he would want the Republican nomination now, he'd get it. The right has gone so anti-intellectual that they see higher education (not football higher education), knowledge of foreign languages, understanding of the world as a liability (and "elitist"), but an idiot who is known for praying too much on the football field is presidential material.
Tebow is dumb enough to be a RePugniScum. And he's a great Jesusmonger just like the RePugniScums.
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
I'd vote for Statler and Waldorf. Tebow? Umm....no.

Tim Tebow's resume:
Foreign policy experience: 0
Economic experience: 0
Governing experience:
- Federal level: 0
- State level: 0
- Local level: 0
Military experience: 0
Business experience: 0
Soooo.....
Let's float the possibility of someday electing him POTUS.
Forget the fact that he hasn't got an ounce of experience. God will walk him through it. That's worked SO well for others (George W. Bush, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, ad nauseum).
And that pesky little fact that he was born in the Philippines? A Presidential candidate's place of birth would never be an issue, now would it...?
I would guess not since John McCain was born in Panama (yet Obama is the guy who is still having to deal with his place of birth).
It appears Tebow has more political experience that 75% of the teabaggers in the House of Representatives.
Keep in mind Republicans consider inexperience & ignorance to be a positive attribute, not a negative attribute.
If Tebow runs for political office, we then place bets on which corporate &/or far right entity is the first to purchase Tebow's soul.
To me, Tebow looks like an ALEC/Koch bros man.
When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in excess body fat & carrying a misspelled sign.
I wish the media would stop enabling this asshole.
..Tim Tebow is now the Hope Diamond of ESPN's corporate packaging.
Tim Tebow's contrived mythos is currently making ESPN & all of ESPN's corporate sisters' hundreds of millions of dollars.
So there is no way in hell the media will stop enabling this asshole.
When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in excess body fat & carrying a misspelled sign.
Really? I'm sure he'll enjoy being a senator from a red state but lets be honest his pathetic football career is going to be a killer on his political ambitions until he gets older and does something. He took Denver to the playoffs and within the next two seasons Denver is going to trade/cut him to get a new QB that isn't truly awful. What's interesting is that how we associate their play is usually how we elect ex-athletes, great ones get into office right away, bad ones need to build a real political career.
There were at least 5 failed QB's in congress. Jack Kemp being the leader.
Kemp wasn't a failed QB so much as he wasn't hall of fame good. He started in the AFL was highly competitive in his era. If Tebow fails within the next year or two (which is highly likely) he'll need to go to law school like most of the others and parlay his football time into a record on law and move into it that way. Bad career = bad politics.
lets never forget that the shows host said: "From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this, though: despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death." and the golf channel was so happy they gave him his own show. I know I have not forgotten.
Tebow is 24 years old - he has a whole lot of living on his own to do before anyone finds out what sort of person he really is. Tebow wouldn't be the first twenty-something-year-old evangelical Christian to believe (or go along with his mother's belief), that Jesus+sports can keep the gay at bay.
http://outsports.com/jocktalkblog/2012/01/12/...
I used to suspect/hope that Ricky Williams might be the first active NFL player to come out of the closet, but I think my bet is shifting. I dunno, but I do know that the wider culture has shifted - it's only a matter of time before the ersatz-militaristic NFL catches up.
OK, I'm glad it's not just me, (nttawwt), but Tim has always presented a Paul Lynde sized ping on the ol' gaydar.
response---Q: "Why do football players wear nylon jerseys?" A: "Because chiffon wrinkles!"
Janek
...every time Tim Tebow opens his mouth, a purse falls out.
For my part, I think it's fabulous. Pro sports culture needs more kinds of men as role models, and gentler, more soft-spoken men would be a good place to start. Gay or not, Tebow is a good example of the reality that men don't have to be rageaholics to be, "manly."
Imagine a world where adolescents stop learning and parroting the myth that weakness is synonymous with being female.
What on earth makes this moron think that he has any qualifications for political office, including dog catcher?
I'd say he got the idea from the fact that there are lots of other morons already in political office. Who needs qualifications.
Wasn't little timmy born in the Phillipines?
Yes and that is part of the lie he and his mother told in their little pro life commercial about how she went against what she was being told and went ahead and hat little Timmy. Only she forgot to mention that she was in the Philippines where it is totally illegal to have any kind of abortion.
a 'jesus' freak. (No intended slam against those honest-to-goodness decent REAL Christians...)
is white....no problem...no controversy
because Jesus instructed his disciples to care about others.

We certainly don't need anymore Right Wing ,religious wing-nuts screwing this country.
So Mr I don't have to throw a spiral, is talking to a golf channel scribe and he suggests elective office. Well perhaps the Replecant House can make a little change to the rules and drop the age for Pres. Make it to 25 instead of 35. They might want to do in the next month or so, Mittens ain't working too well.
A football player on The Golf Channel talking about his political aspirations. I swear, Idiocracy was a documentary. Ow, my balls!
Check his birth certificate.

Tim the teabagger hasn't kept up on social affairs. The teabaggers are toast! Put a fork in it timmy boy, it's DONE!
He's going to have to find something to do with his time beginning, oh, I'm guessing around week 7, 2012.
"Who the #*$& is this guy and why should I care?"
Christ, the amount of vitriol that you people spew without an inkling of knowledge about who Tim Tebow really is, is just amazing. Not a one of you should ever claim to liberals.
Fucking assholes is what you are.
Tim Tebow has never pushed his religion on anyone. He has never taken the low road. He is genuine role model who happens to believe in Jesus. Get over yourselves.
His teammates believe in him and think he's a winner and anyone who's ever met him has come away with a possitive impression.
I'll bet you hate mongers can't say the same.
"Better." It's what we should ask of ourselves and of our leaders.
you're a Broncos fan....
CTHULHU 2012 "Why vote for a lesser evil?"
...but, and I think this happened when you were in Japan, Tebow did an anti-choice Super Bowl ad before he was drafted. So yes, he has pushed it on people.
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust.
makes you a role model?
WTF ever, your standards gave us the Bush economy.
And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
According to the Bible, Tim Tebow is a hypocrite.
We sssoooo enjoyed watching his talentlessness on display in the Patriots/Broncos playoff, where he looked as bad on the field as Romney does on the stump. The GOP seems to make endless room for untalented politicians.
MyMy
makes Tim seem solid..
An extremely weird vibe emanates from that guy, doesn't it? As though it's already written that sometime down the road, he'll be embroiled in a scandal that will cruelly mock his sanctimonious posturing.
Then again, I probably once thought the same thing about Roger Staubach, too (I'll never understand holy rollers). Which is not to equate the two in any meaningful way. Staubach was a wild, free spirited libertine compared to the tense Mr. Tebow.
...but I don't recall Staubach as being a holy roller. His coach with the Cowboys, yeah, but not Staubach.
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust.
Go into the "being a sleazy preacher" business.
It really is your calling, next to being able to through a ball.
. . . these religious types who claim to have a personal relationship with Jesus never hear Him say they should give up their wealth and possessions, and dedicate their lives to helping poor people.
Christian means is that you have to lean liberal. OK, he's pro-choice and that's one thing you disagree with him about. On the other hand, has he ever said a bad word about the President? Has he ever said a bad word about anyone? I just don't understand the hatred. I find it totall irrational. If this guys hang up was his mother and referencing how much his mother has been an influence in his life, would you call him a mama's boy? No, you'd probably say he was fortunate to have a well adjusted life.
I get it. You hate Christians. Pick on a more deserving one to hate. Tim Tebow is a nice guy. I hope my kids grow up to be as nice and as generous as he is. Yes I do consider him a role model.
And heaven's no, I'm not a Broncos fan. I've been a Vikings fan since Tarkenton lead the team.
I just feel that Tim Tebow's really getting a bad shake. That's all
"Better." It's what we should ask of ourselves and of our leaders.
... but I don't particularly care for self-righteous, holier-than-thou assholes who publicly shill for hate groups like Focus on the Family. By associating himself with these people, Tim Tebow has become a purveyor of bigotry and hatred. As far as I'm concerned, he can go fuck himself.
And if you're going to defend him for that, then fuck you, too.
David Feherty is a flaming wing-nut, fascist asshole.
The golf channel. The place where right-wing rich republican country club trust funders discuss life's problems. Like how much should they give a caddy, and is the 30 or 45 degree sand wedge the one to use in white sand?
Hell, the had doughy pantload Rush Limbaugh on several times, pretending he was an athlete.
That's why this idiot Feherty is on the golf channel. The place where republican bigots go, once their schtick becomes even more than espn can excuse.
Feherty is just estatic that his village idiot routine plays well with the American corporate fascist elite's, whose love of country club republicanism is off the charts.
As far as Tebow goes, he seems like a nice kid, but the religion stuff is a turn-off for me. By the time this kids old enough to run for office, the Teabircher's will be a huge joke in history books, and the GOP will be a small minority that will have tremendous difficulty attracting young people in the changing demographics of America.
As for Feherty the fascist, he will probably be doing gay porn with old self loathing republicans, whose only talent while in office, was sucking corporate c*ck.
If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.
MORON!!!
Give me a break. What an idiot. Tim Tebow for a more Christian country -- yeah, just what we need.
