Sen. Levin: Cheney attack on Obama 'out of bounds'
Former Vice President Dick Cheney has gone too far with his latest attack against President Barack Obama, according to Sen. Carl Levin. "The comments of the former vice president were totally out of bounds. I don't think he has any credibility left with the American people," Levin told Fox News' Chris Wallace.
Cheney accused Obama of "dithering" on making a decision to send more troops to Afghanistan during a speech in D.C. Wednesday. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs rejected that criticism Thursday.
"What Vice President Cheney calls dithering, President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform and to the American public," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said. "I think we've all seen what happens when somebody doesn't take that responsibility seriously."
If anyone would know about "dithering" it would be Darth Cheney. They dithered with Afghanistan the last 6+ years they were in office.
I'll give him an example, in one word: Katrina.

To be fair to "Dick," every day we don't send more troops to Iraqistan is one less day Halliburton doesn't get the no bid contracts to build electrified showers for the new troops who get the duty.

senator sherrod brown doesn't take the negative linguistic framing from cheney. the active (r) lawmakers will let cheney do the damage. any opportunity to criticize obama will occur from inactive and active lawmakers.

I too wish someone would make clear what the fucking mission is in Afganistan. Anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of Afganistan knows there is no "winning" there. Hell, it's hardly a country as we understand the meaning. It's a collection of tribes that do not recognize a central government, and "democracy" is a pipe dream there. So what/who the hell are we fighting? For what purpose? Bring our troops home NOW.
There's also not much we can do when there's no government due to the overturn of the election.
Would we be going there to replace Karzai, to set up a new government, who exactly are we going to hand it over to?

I've often wondered about that when political figures say something really good and then back off of it a couple of days later. We can't prove it, of course, because those who are threatened would be afraid to talk, but often you can just feel in your gut (your other mind that can detect things that your conscious brain doesn't notice) that something is very wrong.
Somebody needs to take Cheney on a hunting trip who can shoot straighter than Cheney can. And I don't mean at those small pen raised flightless birds Cheney couldn't hit either.
