Santorum says he's 'taken the bullets' in the abortion debate
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum used a phrase during CNN's Republican primary debate Monday that he may later regret.
"You can look at my record," Santorum said. "Not only have I been consistently pro-life, I have not just taken the pledge but I've taken the bullets to go out there and fight for this and lead on those issues."
Almost two years ago, abortion provider Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed with actual bullets.

And tomorrow, he'll no doubt pull a Palin and consider that a "gotcha," as he opened his mouth of his own free will and Santorum fell out...
Open mouth, insert foot... Open mouth, change feet... repeat as necessary...

Whoever was "shooting" them didn't have as good a shot as Tiller's killer, huh Ricky?
At least his unfortunate turn of phrase served a purpose, to remind viewers that the right wing is actually out there shooting doctors and members of Congress now.
It has gone far past polite debating points about whether rape victims should be forced by the state to bear their rapist's child, or whether we should start wars of aggression. The right has won those battles. Now they're actually killing people in America's streets.
I don't even know what to add, the ridiculousness is just screaming out at me.
So? 'Taken shots' and 'taken bullets' is a common phrase. But what am I saying? It's Rick Santorum, and because we all disagree with him politically, it means everything that comes out of his mouth is bad and he's just an evil human being who was clearly making a veiled reference to murder. Duh.
for medical reasons. The same right he wants to deny to the rest of the population.
...wash his mouth out with santorum after that comment.
