Pelosi: 'Cantor can't handle the truth' on big oil subsidies

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) explained Sunday that Republicans had walked away from negotiations on raising the debt ceiling because Democrats had suggested closing special interest tax loopholes for big corporations.
"Leader Cantor can't handle the truth when it comes to these tax subsidies for big oil, for corporations sending jobs overseas or giving tax breaks to the wealthiest people in the country, while they're asking seniors to pay more for less, as they abolish Medicare," Pelosi told CNN's Candy Crowley.
"In the Bush years the Republicans said that tax cuts will produce jobs," she later added. "They didn't. They produced a deficit."
When Nancy left the House Speaker position, the Senate had 368 bills on the table without action.
the House did their job and unlike the repugs worked for the american people. Unfortunately, the democratic timidness has let the repugs get away with far too much crap. The dems have to get their message and Van Jones looks like he is ready to help with the back up of the creativity behind Moore and MoveON.

Ms Pelosi is still way behind the curve, attack, attack, attack Repubs at every opportunity. Start with grabbing headlines. Trouble is most Democrats are getting pay-offs from the same corporations & bankers as the Repubs so really this is only Sunday afternoon chit-chat, kaffeeklasch. As for the health "reform" legislation you seem so fond of, do take a closer look. The insurance companies are free to raise their rates through the roof for another 3 years to make up for it and medical providers are under no obligation to accept the watered down over priced plans with insane deductibles that you are going to have to settle for.

Why did Pelosi wait until she lost the House and the Dems became a minority did she go after this?
Pelosi was and is one of the few fighters , this is an example . This isn't new for her . Why do you think Limbaugh and the Reich hate her and attacked her relentlessly when she was speaker ? Because she was tough and a pain in their butts ... unlike Reid and the rest .

This is the message for 2012 for the election. It is succinct, accurate, and irrefutable. Will Dems have the courage and perseverance to use it everywhere they go, and say it every day, to everyone who will listen?
when the tax cuts were going to expire. instead of really doing their jobs and saying, "well obviously ten years of tax cuts haven't worked, let's review some of the things that actually did create jobs and re examine them." Instead they did the easy thing and pushed the tax cuts down the road, where they have an even greater chance of being made permanent (which is what their masters want) when the GOP takes over in 2012.
