In his new book, Tom Ridge will say that members of the Bush administration pressured him to raise the terror alert level for political reasons. A former Bush White House communication director has resorted to name calling to refute the charge.

"During the 2004 presidential campaign we were having a very political discussion about terrorism," said Nicolle Wallace. "But that is quite different from what [Tom Ridge] very, I think in a very wussy way alleges."

Wallace appeared as a panel member on "Fox News Sunday."

she's married to this guy:

Mark D. Wallace is an American politician and lawyer who has frequently been in the news for his role as leader of the team coaching Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin for interviews and debates. Wallace currently serves as the Executive Director of United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), an advocacy group that seeks to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

A Miami lawyer and veteran of three of Jeb Bush's campaigns for Florida governor, Wallace "played a key role working for the Bush legal team in the decisive Florida recount in 2000", according to The Daily Telegraph'. In 2004, Wallace served as George W. Bush's deputy campaign manager.

Mark Wallace held several different positions under the Bush Administration, including jobs at the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. In 2005, Wallace was married to White House Communications Director, Nicolle Devenish, who now uses her married name Nicolle Wallace.

OK SO she obviously has NO vested interest in sticking up for DHS, which should be disbanded. There's your universal healthcare money. And administrative office space, as well.

So what was her stance on Ridge when he was Mr. Nicolle Wallce's boss?

RobertD's picture

He should've resigned immediately.

Still, did Bushco play politics with the terror alert system, or not?

There's being a wuss, and then there's being a fucking bald-faced, excuse-making liar. Take your pick, honey.

Pete2069's picture

Except these right wing (you call them) have to ask that question???

A look into her resume...

Nicolle Devenish Wallace is a U.S. Republican Party operative whose recent posts include White House Communications Director under George W. Bush and campaign advisor for Sarah Palin.

Wallace and her husband were enlisted to work with Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, helping to prepare her for interviews and debates...

She served as Communications Director for the 2004 Bush presidential campaign. Previously, held positions at the White House, under Florida governor Jeb Bush, and in the ""California Republican Party"".

California Republican Party is this the group which help Bush steal the 2004 election...

From her mindset, Ridge could be wuss. Bush and Cheney were pushing the big lie and if Ridge wants to have it both ways, break rank and try to be a nice guy to the new administration now, where is the honor when you aren't true to your team forever no matter how evil they are?

"Tom Ridge, you sir, are a PUSSY."

She won't though. Know why? Guess.

...be able to walk the talk.

You can say anything on Fox.

Amitola's picture

Tom Ridge is a lot less WUSSY than anyone on that panel.....or most Republicans in government/news casting. He did his duty and served in Viet Nam, I think he even won some medals.

He certainly has a lot more credibility in the bravery department than William the Bloody and Dick the Darth and even Dubya. They much prefer to send other people off to fight the wars.

Tom Ridge is probably dying, and wants to unfuck our remembrance of his sorry performance. I say NO! This clusterfuck happened on YOUR watch, and you have to wear it forever in all the footnotes of all the scholarly journals! Fuck you very much, and my best wishes for a malingering, painful demise.

I'll give Tom props for being a veteran, but the evaluation of his contribution has to include the entirety of his performance, which was pretty shabby under the BushCo Crime Family's reign. He could have said NO, and quit at any time.

"the silence of good men" thing that allows evil to flourish?

I don't know about you, John, but I think this is more a case of "if you lay down with dogs, you'll wake up with fleas."

And, since "birds of a feather flock together," then one can only deduce that the Talented Mr. Ripl.. errr..Ridge was fully a part of the aforementioned evil, and only now chooses to attempt to distance himself from it.

ctalk's picture

Calling him a wussy for not kissing jr's butt forever is weak and silly. We all know the truth about bush and his evil ways, this deceitful liar brings back the ugliness and dishonestly of the dark ages under bush. I'm so glad these insane people are gone for good.

without even realizing it.

To wit:
"During the 2004 presidential campaign we were having a very political discussion about terrorism,"

Yes, Wallace, you dim-bulb, it was a political discussion, and the 'terra alerts' were being used POLITICALLY.
I would also add: Illegally and unmorally, but I doubt you understand those words, seeing as how you work at Faux Schnooze.

A real man would have said no and done the right thing the whole time.

I suspect she wouldn't have like that much either though.

Hybrid's picture

Had I been in his position, knowing that with my consent they might raise the terror alert level for political reasons with willy-nilly evidence, I'd be thinking twice about resigning and letting Bushco. put in someone who would do it without a thought. Not saying that was what he was thinking at the time, but it's plausible considering the delay.

She probably would have said that he turned his back on his country if he had resigned in protest, assuming anyone cares what she thinks in the first place.

pinkobait's picture

Doesn't at all qualify as castrating.
If you were a real man you wouldn't be making these girlish allegations.

Talk about another pathetic Bushie like Wallace on TV. Unemployment among the Bush loyalists is higher than any other era,so my guess she's now on the Fox propaganda payroll.

breakspear's picture

in fact, because she dismissively calls him 'wussy' it makes it more clear that Bush/Cheney were doing it for political reasons. which i believed before but she just reinforces that idea with her lame comments. she mustve been a lousy communications director.

constituent's picture

when i hear "wussy" i think cantor and santorum amongst others.

WTF

Is there any doubt that these people are fucking insane?
republicanism is a mental illness!

She goes on to say that "2004 was very much an election about who could protect us from another terrorist attack."

We certainly know it wasn't Dubya who was Commander in Chief on September 11, 2001.

I wish the media would have reminded everyone that the Presidential Daily Brief dated August 6, 2001 was titled: Bin Laden determined to strike in US.

What a shame to have had our country turned into a bunch of scared rabbits.

Its time they made a montage of every person who worked for the Bush administration who served as a whistleblower. First vid of each person is someone in the administration complimenting how great an american they are. Then that person saying that the administration did the wrong thing. Finally, either those same people or people at fox calling them a coward/traitor.

chervilant's picture

Would they have to make it a mini-series? Such a montage might be lenghty. Well...only if Darth Cheney didn't successfully quashed everyone's honesty...

Cramthra's picture

Maybe Nicolle doesn't rise herself to the role but her name is fitting, a character on Law and Order CI is Nicole Wallace a high achieving sociopath. She always games the detective, many steps ahead of him every time as are the Bushies and their legions.

chervilant's picture

One has to wonder if the choice of that character's name was in some way deliberate...

capncapcha's picture

that he would make these allegations at a time when it serves no one, not even himself.

oldretire's picture

Ridge is covering his tracks so when the sh*t hits the fan he can say I spoke up late but I spoke up. This is all distraction from the real issues the Traitor cheney still goes untouched as does the COWARD Traitor rove addington and libby.
Someone asked why he didn't resign immediately remember most of the RATS desert the sinking ship after the FIXED second election.

Wussy really describes the cowardice lack of action by the MSM even today they would rather write about their chumps (oops chums) then REPORT real NEWS.

I don't know where this woman came from, but she's partisan in a way that can only be described as "leaving one's brain on the kitchen table" before heading to the studio.

Her defensive post hoc work for the clearly unhinged Sarah Palin during the election was so painful to watch.

I was going to use a word to describe her, so offensive to women and rightly so. Now I won't.

FOX appearance standards for its female propaganda readers! She needs to get her hair re-bleached, STAT! There's a good half inch of brown showing at the roots. She's probably overdue to have her lobotomy refreshed, too...yes, she's a droolingly stupid cretin, but you can never be too dumb if you're working for FOX. Or dishonest.

chervilant's picture

I'll tell you what's fishy to me, Nicolle. I find it fishy that a president during whose term in office a known group of terrorists successfully attacked the US could reframe that event as an example of how he was the only one who could protect America from these terrorists! WTF!!

willie's picture

"I was not there..."
so shut the F up because you are a tool and too dumb to know it

Eris23's picture

She's right. Tom Ridge is absolutely a wuss for not doing anything about the political abuse of DHS while he was there. It's a wuss move to wait until one has a book out to reveal such a truth. And, let's face it, as a former Senior Advisor to John McCain, Wallace is an absolute expert on wuss moves as John McCain became a master of them. ;)

Yellowbird's picture

Everyone knows that using the apparatus of the U.S.Govt as an election tool is unlawful.

So Ridge's book PROVES that BOTH terms of their WUSSY PREZIDUNCE
were illegal.

Which means each and every law put on the books for 8 years are ILLEGAL.
