McCain rebukes RNC tactics against Obama
By David Sunday Dec 14, 2008 10:30am
John McCain doesn't think that the Republican National Committee's calls for the Obama team to release their conversations with Rod Blagojevich are helpful.
"With all due respect to the Republican National Committee, we should try to be working constructively together," McCain told ABC's George Stephanopoulos.
McCain believes Obama will release all of the necessary information without prodding by the RNC. "I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary," he said.
The Republican National Committee released a web video suggesting that Obama may have had a larger role in the pay-to-play scandal surrounding Blagojevich.

I say we give 'em lots of investigations. God knows there is plenty to be investigated when it comes to the last eight years.
Right on Freddy I think investigations should be coming out of their ears. The truth is dems are looking like they condone treason, torture and illegal occupations.
For every faux outrage and psuedo scandal concocted by the GOP the Dems need to after 2 real scandals of the past 8 years. Starting with the war crimes of BushCo followed by the widespread corruption in just about every level of their government.
Fortunately the Rethugs don't have control of the congress like they did when Clinton was in office, or if Obama had so much as an overdue library book these sorry bastards would try to overturn an election by impeaching him for it.
I'm just glad to see the OLD John McCain back. You know, not the douchebag that was running for President for the past 6 years...
the OLD douchebag McCain was more of your liking?
McCain's a lot cooler than you.
seems to be different from the majority of the population. Which may explain why you are all alone in your troll den (aka the underside of a bridge)
I think you picked your name well (Tyler Durden). Every time I see one of your comments you're smacking on someone.
I agree with you for the most part. McCain was a douche even six years ago, but he certainly seems to be conveying the perception of not being one. I didn't hear one republican talking point fly through his mouth, which was a slight improvement at least. Perhaps I missed one?
I think I missed the "cool" election. I did hear a lot of people say that if McCain had been as he was back when he ran for president the first time, they would of voted for him.
Oh Really?!?
Explain how he unleashed Sarah Palin on America, and was completely ineffectual in controlling his own campaign. He stood by and let her have at it.
Once a douchebag, always a douchebag. He's been there and can't come back. Maybe in 20 years, but not now.
Methinks mccain is happy he lost the election.
I saw it in his face. People thought I was nuts, but really, he'd thrown in the towel long before November.
Being Pres here isn't an old man's job anymore, and Senator McCain knew it. And he picked Palin to seal the deal. That was a big old declaration of "I want to lose! Do NOT vote for me!"
I get it now... McCain picking Palin was political suicide and he knew it. It was the most patriotic act of self-sacrifice i have ever witnessed. let's turn him, like the republicist party turned lieberman.
I agree. He's happy because he lost. He didn't want to win; he knew it was a losing cause.
He seems much more himself now.
Today's Dallas Morning Nudes had a letter to the editor taking Nancy Pelosi to fault for claiming this is the most ethical Congress ever, of course he cited William Jefferson's bribery, and Rod Blagojevich, and a couple of suspicions on Rangel and Dodd.
First off suspicions aren't convictions or even successful investigations of crime. How many of us have been audited by the IRS? Secondly, the Jefferson case was peanuts, not 9 billon dollars lost in Iraq, and uncontested contracts given to Halliburton and it's subsidiaries like Kellog Brown and Root. Halliburton is chinless's old balliwick. And as for Blogojevitch he was stopped in time by the very man the republicans hated for pursuing treason in their ranks, and then successfully blocked them. And as for nancy pelosi, if this site is any indication, neither she nor hairless reid are great champions for Democrats or Progressives.
This one could be entitled,
"McCain attempts to distance himself from McCain who distanced himself from McCain."
He's relaxed all right -- I'll be waiting for the initial reviews of his book accounting the goings-on inside his campaign. I mean, such a book will ineluctably come out soon, right? Here's hoping he' will stay comfortable in his own skin enough to be truthful, candid and thorough.
That would be the best service he could ever perform for his country.
but I'm happy to see that John McCain is back to being the guy we used to like as the Maverick of his party. The Party still sucks and seems to want to destroy what is left of it, but at least john is thinking clear again. (that's hard for a republican to do)
Anyway, just wanted to add my 2 Bahts about this.
So McCain is trying to burnish his (undeserved) positive, bipartisan image in anticipation of running for another Senate term?
Where was this attitude when he called Obama a socialist and a terrorist and suggested that anyone who supported Obama was guilty of treason?
His fawning suck up admirers in the media may allow John McCain to get away with this. I'll pass.
wow............surprise........the RNC once again revealing it's priorities.
I do not miss the old McCain. The old McCain had many more Americans fooled into believing he was a decent guy. When this asshole burst onto the National Scene over a decade ago at first glance he seemed like a breath of fresh air. I took the first opportunity available to listen to his ideas and came away repulsed. The man is, at best, a shiny piece of glass-an air freshener used to spruce up a lemon on a used car lot. This is one clunker you can't roll the mileage back on.
What a bunch of dirty dogs! We have enough problems for Obama to work on they don't need to be creating extra ones! God I detest those republican hypocrites.
we'll put these accusations of senate seat tampering behind us if you suspend any investigations about war crimes and manufactured intelligence. then we will be truly bi-partisan.
this is how politics work. yes the administrations crimes outweigh this one, but I have seen us roll over on important issues out of concern for "political expedience".
Crooks and liars on both sides. Rahm and Eric STINK!
For exposing the fraud that the Republican party is today. They have no redemptive ideas to offer so they have become Rovian bombthrowers and professional obstructionists in our political process, thinking they can ultimately prevail by tearing down what other centered people build.
As the president of the local UAW said about David Vitter---he'd rather pay a prostitute than auto workers. And it's about the same nationally for the Neocons---they'd rather pay their discredited scumbag hooker Karl Rove than help lift up the national interest with a cooperative approach.
Here is the video

Bush just got a pair of shoes thrown at him!
I just saw that, greeted as liberators you know. The guy almost whacked him on the head too. Wish I could say I was outraged by such actions, but I'm not, Bush in very small was reaping what he sowed.
I'm willing to use his real name for him being a stand up guy.
I don't think this can be said enough: Fuck The Thugs.
They're fucking
Greedy
Old
Poorlosers
about McCain
With no due respect to the Republican party, blow it out your ass.
Purino got jabbed with a mike.
Noone would jab her with a dick.
High irony drips from this entire episode.
Peter Noone?
mcgramps needs to learn to get it right the first time, and just buke them.

Typo?
...you really should quote McCain correctly. I knew when I read your transcript of McCain's answer to this question that you had misquoted him. That's because you are probably familiar with the English language and McCain has only passing acquaintance with normal English usage.
You quoted McCain as saying, "With all due respect.... I knew immediately that you had made a mistake, because McCain uses a form of "_____ all due respect" quite often, and he gets it wrong every time. I have no idea where he got it, but for some reason McCain thinks it is "In all due respect...." He said it all the time during the campaign and he's said it for years. This became a real annoyance to me (just as Bush's pronunciation of "nuclear" irritates me).
Many years ago, after mispronouncing "nuclear" countless times, Bush actually got it right a time or two. I figured his staff had worked tirelessly with him trying to teach him how to speak English, but after getting it right (it may have only been once), Bush immediately went back to saying "nookyulur." I decided his staff realized that Bush had to devote 99.9999% of his intellectual equipment to trying to change the pronunciation of just one word, which left him unable to do anything else. So, it just wasn't worth it.
Likewise with McCain. He has a number of problems with speaking correct English and trying to get him to change would probably render him incapable of doing anything else. So, we're stuck with "In all due respect....; something I've never heard anyone but John McCain say. Maverick indeed!
