Sen. Kent Conrad told Fox News' Chris Wallace that there are not enough votes in the Senate to pass a public option for health insurance. "The fact of the matter is there are not the votes in the United States Senate for a public option. There never have been," said Conrad.

Conrad is one of six Senators attempting to negotiate a bipartisan health care bill.

To hell with the 'Public Option'.

It was flim flam from day one.

Nader at Commondreams on Single Payer

"Now Make Me Do It"

here

The Congressional switchboard is 202-224-3121. The full Medicare, single payer bill (backed by nearly ninety legislators) is H.R. 676. The go-to citizen group for your sustained engagement is singlepayeraction.org. The rest is up to you, the majority, who want to put the people first.

The Senate was never going to pass a bill that helped reform the sick care system. Baucus, Conrad, representing dozens of westerners, are as owned by Corporate America as the entire GOP. With Obama governing as the Bill Clinton centralist he is, expect very little progressive legislation from the government all controled by the Democratic Party. The Party will continue to piss on progressives who will thank them as usual for the Spring shower.

Right Now we should be forming our own group of persons which are really tired of the BS.. Just How long are we going to take this arrogant abuse from the democrat republicans which can call themselves Obama , Emanuel , blue dogs , centrists , Pelosi , Reid , Feinstein , Schumer , Baucus or what ever they wish.
We should have know that the democrats were for republicans when they backed Lieberman over Lamont , They refuse to elect Kennedy to fill Hillary's senate seat and pick a blue dog republican Kirsten Gillibrand.
Obama made it very clear that he was against the progressive after he was elected.. Obama & Emanuel arrogantly stated that they were against the left or progressive and was moving the party to the center. By the democrat party already being in the center with the power of Emanuel and the Hillary democrats they have to be talking about moving to the center right next to the extremist republicans because we were already to the center right.

The progressive has and is being taken for granted and they continue to s... on us daily while the smile at their actions.
Why are we not forming a group of our own which are real progressives and select , fund and support our own candidates.

Do you enjoy this slap in the face every time you suggest something!!!

The centrists and the corporate dogs have made their choice and it is not for our wishes of benefits.

When Bush in 2006 called the blue dogs into a private special meeting this had to tell you everything...

Obama even attacks democrats for saying anything about the blue dog republicans..

politicians: loss of votes. The only way to counter-act the DINOs is to organize to vote them the hell out of office. Baucus is a prime example, I've been hearing his name associated with all kinds of bad people since the '90s. Time for him to go! Same with Sens. Conrad, Ben Nelson, etc etc etc.

from Healthcare lobbyists in the past two years...Co-ops only work for rural electric companies...it takes years and thousands of people and they are still at the mercy of Healthcare /Insurance companies if there is NO Requirement or teeth in the legislation!
Stupid a$$!

Tell Obama to veto without the 'public option'! Tell conrad the Dems are working on his replacement as we speak! Conrad #1.800.224.7776
Congress #1.800.828.0498

Politicians as a whole are disagreeable people but some of these jerks (like Baucus) make me want to puke just hearing their names.

... if it is not obvious by now.

BS

It was obvious when the democrat kicked the people out of the first meeting they had... They stated they were not going to talk about the single tax payer and as for as that went I belive they were also talking about a public option with any teeth..
Baucas and other blue dogs , obama have not received the billions of dollars from the health industry for NOTHING/

The Health Empire does not even pay the policy holders for proper health care must less give away money for no return..

This must be a very big return for them , because the have spend billions of dollars to get what they wanted..

When Clinton failed on health care, it brought down the Democratic Congress. If the Dems fail on it this time, there will be a lot of disillusioned people who may give up on the hope of good government. I am one of these.

If government is so unresponsive to the people that a Senate with 60 percent Democratic majority can't accomplish the will of the people, don't be surprised to see the people turn their backs on the government. That will be the end of the Democrats, as far as I am concerned. I will be overjoyed if it is the end of Conrad.

public option: 76% positive
congressional job rating: 63% negative

The will of the people is an illusion. In a republic the people are powerless, all we have is the illusion of free elections in which a selection of corporate stooges are running.

Good government is an oxymoron. Stop paying taxes. Stop buying health insurance. Stop watching TV. Live low-profile, support your local community.

Stop buying health insuranace. When they go bankrupt, then we might get somewhere.

FLOOD the ERs...remember...the GOP says EVERYONE gets cared for in America!!

And at no cost!!

Sorry to all the hard-working people here in the medical community. I will no longer think twice about going to the ER for non-emergency care.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll be there. Soon, I'll be able to start my business of hiring "line sitters" with cellphones who wait in line for minimum wage (no health care, of course...) and call the patients when they finally get called for admission.

Do it. Bombard the ER's of the country, and tell them to send the bill to the Federal Government.

Why are we not voting these criminals out of office.
Why are we given our money to the DNC they are supporting the very persons which are screwing us..
Pick a replacement for these a... ...... and pass it around to others to check out..
Have you loss your backbone to fight??? This is what they are depending on... They know that you forget this when election time rolls around and the incumbent will win again because he will have the funds from the DNC and the backing of the republican democrat leaders..

This is the reason Emanuel threw Dean out of the party because he was spreading the funds around and Emanuel wanted to feed these funds to his republicans he recruited and ran on the democrat ticket.

Why isn't we forming a group to control our own candidates to replace these republicans..

I will research how to do that. Anyone else who wants to do that, too, go for it. Can someone set up a website for just this purpose? Suggest names, please.

Some of us will die depending if we don't get the medications provided as a result of our insurance. It isn't quite as easy as you suggest.

Ok. Then you're happy with the current system.

With all due respect...if you enjoy giving every last dime to the insurance companies while you try and eke out a life....go for it.

Did you not understand? I said I would DIE if I don't get medication. I can only get medications if my insurance plan pays for them. How in God's name does that make me happy with my insurance plan? When you don't have alternatives to the corporate monopoly other than deat, you don't have a lot of alternatives.

You should research your alternatives. Many prescription drugs are available from Canada for much less than in the US. Or you could take a trip to Cuba and stock up there while having a nice holiday. There are always alternatives.

Obama promised The drug companies he would take that option of getting drugs in Canada off the table for Americans. Obama also took the option of negotiating drug prices off the table for Medicare..

Of Course Obama keeps his promises to the Global Empire , it is the little people Obama has a problem keeping his promises to...

Notice You can not make a phone call to the white house anymore , because they have the busy signal on all the time..

The white house does not want to be bothered with Americans objections for they corporate payouts..

Your representatives no longer bother to read your emails and reply to them.. They have a person counting numbers and have an automatic robot to reply to email.

There is no respect in your response! Perhaps you don't get it.. some of us are old enough to require daily medication, that without insurance of some kind, would be out of reach.

if you are sick. Your death will not help us. It is good to vent it all, though. Good ideas do pop up then. Stopping necessary medication that you cannot afford to pay cash for is not one of them. There are alternatives, probably, and we'll figure out what they are. We cannot solve that tonight, though. Deep breath. Heart in right place. Let's do this. Form a new party. Anyone from the Green Party with organizing experience that they are willing to share?

76% goes against everything I've seen.

My local community is in horrible shape fiscally. In part because people aren't spending.

if and when people stop spending on everything, except the essentials... it'll bring the corporations to their knees. For example: do you really need to drink Coca Cola? Any soda?? No, you don't. You can drink water and not pay one cent more than your community charges for municipal water if that's the case. Get my point? If enough people actually did this (boycott), then the corporations would see that they're NOTHING without consumers. When consumers stop consuming, there's no corporation!

There will be a Bill. And once it's signed, it won't take long for the polls to change.....There will be the spin of course, and we Progs will know that this was a chance, but you can't change the math: without Conrad, Nelson, Landrieu, no public option.

The thing to do is to keep an eye on what, if anything (and I remain somewhat optimistic here) will at least play the role of "honest broker" against the insurance companies.

If the White House gives up on a public option, I swear to God I will abandon politics and Barack Obama. CoOps are NOT the answer. If President Obama gives up on pushing through a public option, then I am done with him. I did not work my ass of campaigning for CoOps. I did not make phone calls for CoOps. If President Obama cannot get a comprehensive public option with a Super Majority, then he's not the leader that I thought he was. Giving up on the public option stabs every Progressive in the back.

Dedicated to all you back-stabbers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzjziKqVp6k

The possibility of pigs like this calling themselves representatives of the Democratic ideal.. or even plain representatives while they spit in the face of what polls show 75 percent of the people in this country want, to be dead.

2020: Democrats, who now hold 98 Senate Seats and all but one seat in the House, announced today that they can't pass their latest legislation against mounting Republican opposition.

"We don't have the votes", Senate leader Roger Reid announced. Reid comes from a long line of politicians, who.....

If he's declaring it dead. His position as chairman needs to go the same route of the public option. Who does he think he works for? Canddideinc and others, I'm asking you not to give up on the idea of good government. I do wonder though if the corporate Democrats and the repugs make up the true majority in Congress. We'll just have to throw our support to better Democrats or support third party candidates. I'm not giving up.

Conrad never wanted it anyway - he's part of the problem.
*

kick that effer's ass outta government! He doesn't deserve the honor of serving the people.

Enough.

... if he signs anything that does not include a public option - as far as I am concerned - and many others I guess.

If he caves on this it is over for him. The wingnuts will have succeeded in boxing him in and he will be weak.

Here is Obama caving:

http://www.rr.com/news/politics/article/9009/...

And now he's going on vacation and taking his great insurance plan and his families with him.

Have a great time, JERK!!!!!

will have won: 'I HOPE HE FAILS' will be heard all over the land!

just maybe it wouldn't be dead, "IF YOU WOULD WORK FOR IT INSTEAD OF WORKING AGAINST IT."

There's a novel idea.

more leadership...less fellatio please.

THE SENATE IS BROKEN...
... THEY NEVER HAVE ENOUGH VOTES!

.

While many of the social issues have a contrasting Democrat/Republican viewpoints, on economic issues, it's politicians working for corporations, versus politicians working for people. The Republican/Democrat is a false dichotomy. I kinda have to laugh when we see two corporate owned stooges on a news show give *differing* opinions.

The corporate owned Senators vastly outnumber the non-corporate owned Senators. The softest target in addressing this matter that I see is the primary elections. If people don't participate in primary elections, then, by the time the general elections come around, the choice is between two corporate owned minions.

The single party state.

Seems so. You would have thought the Obama administration would have been more prepared and on the ball for this expected battle. More leading - less pleading (for bipartisanship).

It's really a shame. I (and many others) may go broke paying for health care.

Barrack Obama is the new Jimmy Carter.

Don't insult Jimmy Carter that way.

See Carter's energy speech on April 18, 1977 and tell me he was not a man of great courage, here

The American people did not want to hear about sacrifice…

The Corporations made damn sure about that.

Carter had a lot of good ideas. He just didn't fight for them.

And, according to some guy on The Daily Show, Carter's energy or "malaise" speech was actually well-received at the time.

And why isn't Obama doing a prime-time address calling bullshit on the Republican lies? Fuck this Kumbaya crapola and fight.

"If you don't fight hard for the things you believe in, then at some point you have to realize that you don't believe in them."

Paul Wellstone

Damn straight.
*

Carter got screwed by his own congress - just like Obama is about to have happen to him.
*

His energy speech was in 1977. His 'malaise' speech was in 1979. They were not the same thing.

Jimmy Carter never sold out the Democratic voters.

You know nothing about Carter. He's a genuine American hero.

There's more good in that man than in the entire Re=Thug party.
*

Take what he said as a state senator, U.S. Senator, primary candidate & finally party nominee, and compare it all to what he is now. I just couldn't tell a false progressive from a real one...my fault. I feel very sorry for those who bought the "Change You Can Believe In" crap. Washington is a large whore house, pimped by Corporate America. How many Americans were denied health benefits this week to pay United Health Care's CEO his $102,000 an hour(NOT a typo)? There will be a lot of blood on the hands of this Congress & Executive Branch if a strong public option is not in the final bill.

I want to know the name of every member of "The Family." I want to know what investments all of the Senators and Reps own. Just to begin. Why isn't the MSM talking about the fact that there are 52 Blue Dogs in the House, not just the six they acknowledge. That was not a real question. I know the answer. Corporate owned media. This has become so "in your face," it's stunning.

What Obama needs is to get a little of Hugo Chavez in him.

Thanks to selfish assholes like Conrad, the idea of our politicians actually serving the greater public need is DOA. I guess it's just more important to be a slave to corporate interests and the failed status quo.

Thanks so little Conrad, for burying the ideal the Kennedys had that public service through politics was the highest form of service in America. Yellow sellouts like you have degraded it into a corporate slop trough that people like you willingly belly up to at the expense of your constitutents.

Whether they're in the majority or minority it seems as if the Republicans glass is always full.

full of rush, etc,
NO?

...he won’t support government-run health care program.

Snip - CARRINGTON, N.D. — Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D. presented his cooperative health care proposal here Thursday and told an audience of 100 that he would not vote for a government-run health care program.

and

Conrad said he would not vote for any health care reform that funded abortions, care for illegal immigrants or a plan that mandates end-of-life counseling.

That's it nut-bag, stay on your toes, because your bound to end up on your heels fairly soon. We all know your numbers are skewed... your about to be humbled.

PS. You belong on FOX, don't forget to grab your sheepskin on the way out. ;-)

Until 1996, reconciliation was limited to deficit reduction, but in 1996 the Senate adopted a precedent to apply reconciliation to any legislation affecting the budget, even legislation that would worsen the deficit. Under the administration of President George W. Bush Congress used reconciliation to enact three major tax cuts.

for reconciliation.

......ugh, No We Can't.

What a bunch of b.s. I'll wager $1,000 no one will take to the streets in any type of nationwide march in order to make Nimrod and the rest of Congress immediately change their tunes.

Hence, there's no NEED for any of them to worry about what the average citizen feels.

Work on the protest first.

Leave the apathy for later.

...you will just get labeled as a racist teabagger if you take to the streets!

...fought for about two years. This so-called Democratic majority is on the ropes after just a half a year. It's pathetic. They're practically giving in to the Palin-Limbaugh-Beck-Party without a fight. After winning this the crazies will be so energized that they'll be back on top of it after two and four years. Looking forward to 2012! There won't even be the need for a blow job impeachment.

A vote on single payer should be forced. Those voting against should be public record.

Those voting against it should be impeached.

In the House in September, unless Madam Speaker Pelosi renegs on that too.

OK, When this does come down to a vote. We need to find out all of the Dems who voted against the single payer option and the public option. We need to know who were the Dems who obstructed this.
Then we go to work before the next election. We need to get rid of these bluedogs. All of them. I know it's a risk. Because there might be a few GOPers who may win. But what's the difference? Bluedogs are just a few centimeters away from being GOPers.
Then we start a grassroots movement to oust them all.

There is one little caveat. If they vote for this co op deal.
How will we know who obstructed SP and the PO?

I hate when these spineless dems hide behind the phrase "there just aren't the votes." I don't care if they think there aren't enough votes. I want to hear if they vote FOR or AGAINST and if they will fight FOR it.

They don't want to accept the fact that THEY WON. The voters GAVE you that majority to get things done and STILL you whine and cry. Stop taking bribes and start doing the people's business.

They don't care crap about the American people.
*

a-fuckin'-men.

Rule One

If corporations are desperately against something...and telling you it is bad for you...it is GOOD for you...so you vote in favor of it.

If corporations support something...and tell you it is good for you...it is BAD for you...and you vote against it.

Simple.

The problem is people don't vote, only their elected representatives corporate stooges do

From the NYT: White House Appears Open to Insurance Co-ops

"The Obama administration sent signals on Sunday that it has backed away from its once-firm vision of a government organization to provide for the nation’s 50 million uninsured and is now open to using nonprofit cooperatives instead."

Kiss the public option goodbye. The Health Insurance Companies are insuring there won't be any meaningful competition to their stranglehold on their profits and our health and well-being.

Time to opt out of taxes and health insurance and let them both go bankrupt.

Co-op...thats political code for a stinkin' smelly poorly run operation that no one would put their worst enemy in.

I know dumb-as-dirt fundamentalists who haven't paid taxes in a decade, never use their Social Security, and plan to live off inheritance of their wealthy parents. I guess this works for some rednecks.

...when the country is trillions in debt. and our tax money is all being used to pay for war and the interest on the trillions in debt that we owe...

...theyre gonna look like the "ones who planned ahead.

How much does anyone want to bet that the Kucinich amendment will be tabled? That's the amendment that would allow individual states to take a shot at a Single Payer health system WITHOUT interference from the Feds. And I am NOT talking about what Massachusetts currently has.

The insurance corporations have to make SURE that the Kucinich amendment is squashed because God forbid any state should be SUCCESSFUL AT COVERING EVERYONE WITH REASONABLE SINGLE PAYER PREMIUMS.

Taking all bets here now!!!!

Ugh

Maybe the Blue Dogs read this and we unwittingly give them ideas. Helping the corporations by playing devil's advocate is not wise. I wish progressives would stop shooting themselves in the foot like this. Being a progressive is soooo frustrating!

Obama looks so weak on this. Conrad, Grassley, and the whole GOP are laughing their asses off at him right now. I hope he likes humiliation, because he's going to get it in droves for a long time unless he finds some backbone.

It's obvious that Obama isn't as bright as we thought.

.

.

Q U E S T I O N:

WHY DO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS THINK AMERICANS DON'T DESERVE AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE?

.

Question ...

Do you think they care?

Each and every one of them has "I'VE GOT MINE!!" tattooed on their fat privileged asses.
*

Because they are living the american dream, it's all about #1 ......

Poverty is a crime, even if Victorian England sorted that one out hundreds of years ago !

Yes - we've got a long way to go here. It would help if we had some help from the media.
*

The media you have in america IS the problem, they are owned by the companies that are messing the people over for the money, until the masses actually go look for their own info and get if from the source, i.e. an example of actual middle east news :

http://www.skyreporter.com/

Opposed to profit driven cabals NOTHING will change.

They are the system, fighting them head on is pointless.

It's not dead until it's dead. Obama needs to start bloodying some knuckles and butting some heads in HIS OWN PARTY. Study Lyndon Johnson... and figure out HOW TO GET LEGISLATION PASSED. It's never too late to do the right thing.

These are trail ballon to see if they can fold. Write, email and call your congress people. Let them know you support a strong public option.

Tell them you want Single Payer.

If we'd started at Single payer - we wouldn't be fighting so hard for public option (which sucks).
*

...I'm a teabagger now...

Obama and the dems lost me when they voted to re-authorise the patriot act and gave immunity to AT&T...2 yrs ago.

...time to get in the streets with the teabaggers!

The teabaggers are dupes of the Corporations.

Either they are dupes or they are stooges.

And you want to be in the street with them?

Really!!!!

I will pledge allegiance to the ghost of Trotsky before I will pledge allegiance to them!

...I'm an anti war teabagger.

nothing to do with corporations...

I suppose you think I'm a racist too?

You can have your million reasons, I won't sign onto one of them.

I luv ya for your informative commenting on the banking system ponzi scheme run by the FED...

...but I'm afraid I'll never be a commie either...

at least we have some common ground.

I agree with you about those problems - but I think if I started to hang out with teabaggers my IQ would go down.

Besides - I don't have a scrotum.
*

Maybe one of them will donate one to you.

It was all just a big dance. Obama clearly didnt understand what he was up against. He forgot there are lots of scumbags in the Dems too who only pander to those greasing their palms. Rescumlicans are like children. they only care when its happening to them or their family members. In short, i doubt there are many politicians who really give a rats ass about whats good for their constituents. Remember that piece of monkey shit Bush exclaiming " Whats good for American business is good for America." He forgot to say " And the majority of you all can go fuck yourselves. "
Its sad and only going to get a lot sadder. USA is in the death grips of greedy assholes ,war profiteers , and Zionists.

Obama was a junior Senator and LBJ knew where every single body was buried and every single skeleton in the Senate was hidden.

LBJ had the Senate by the N*&S. Obama is owned by corporate America.

Well - someone's happy.

Conrad needs to be tarred and feathered. They all do. Including Sebelius, Baucus and Rahm.

How long before this Cooperative BS gets sucked up by the capitalist? Nice try nimrod!

They're trying to Palin! "Gee... It's IMPOSSIBLE!... we HAVE to give up..." BULLSHIT! I read my local newspaper this morning and every single reader that wrote in regarding public option understood the impending need for it.
I get it and so do 40 million Americans, we're being bullied, lied, and bought by the insurance companies and the pocket-lined politicians who are worried about giving up their "contributions" all for the sake of money.
Obama needs to veto anything that doesn't have a public option... period!

For a second I thought you'd written "quilters" and I got excited.

Then I realized you were talking about DC and I realized there was no reason to be excited.
*

I guess it's time for us all to go to DC.

We'll need a date.
*

Whatever "non-public" option they're talking about now will not result in insurance companies lowering their premiums and ripping off their customers any more than the holy grail phony-baloney issue of "tort reform" has.

Those Blue Dog Democratic Superdelegates knew exactly what they were doing when they handed roll-over-and-beg Obama the nomination instead of bitch-on-wheels Clinton.

That's it. I'm done. I'm voting Green from now on. F**k the cowardly Dems.

Why the fuck do we have to protest in the street when we supposedly have the House, Senate and the White House????

In other words - we the people have got NOTHING.
*

Who is this WE you are talking about.

There is one party, it is the party of power and property as vested in the Corporations. It has two factions.

It is the party of the Owners. You and I are not invited.

:(

you make me a sad panda

:(

...The Green Tea party!

teabaggers. I've seen the racist signs, the overall low-information levels of the protestors, and no, I want no part of that.

Cute.

THE ALL NIGHT PARTY???

lol

It certainly won't be Earl Grey

but...are you in favor of your own socialized healthcare? If not, why do you accept it?

We need to raise a GREAT BIG STINK about their "socialized health care" right away.

I want it taken away from them.

such legislation?

Of course, NONE.

Pffft!

There goes "hope"

so the government leaves us with faith and the only hope we have is to rely on charity.

If you really care?

now you can have Conrad in exchange. One is just as useless as the other. Bu-bye, Kenty, boy. You're a traiter to your party--get the hell out.

Who are they?

I like the idea of a tax protest.

No one files in April unless they're due for a refund.
*

teabaggers...."often imitated" but "never duplicated"

Not on the scale I'm talking about.
*

...63 million Americans already don't file an income tax return...

...how big of a scale are you talkin' about anyway?

a few million more "public option fans" maybe? Cool! and rest assured...

..."We" income tax protesters/teabaggers" will welcome you with open arms!

I am so disappointed in this president I can no longer support him. He has not lived up to the promises he made during his campaign and has not told the truth on others. Don't ask don't tell; promising to televise the health care debate. Now we find out about secret deals with the pharmaceuticals and the Gang of Six held all of their meetings in private with no debate.
But now signalling that he will give up on the public option is the last straw. I didn't think there was anything that he could do that would end my support - but this did. The health care "debate" has reached this point because the administration has let it slide along while the repubs have broken our kneecaps with the lies, townhallers, and fear that only they know how to brandish. I feel sick over this and lay the blame directly at the democratic congress and the administration.
How inept, disappointing and a waste to the hopes of this presidents once loyal base. I have seen no passion or committment to promised changes to health care and then we get the e-mail to get involved. It's way too little, too late.

I want to move to Canada where they care about their citizens. Our representatives don't give a f**k about the people who put them in office--they only care that they have theirs, and that they keep getting cash from the lobbyists so they can stay in office. I say vote all these bastards out when they come up for re-election.

Give it a little more time. :)

I'm gettin' pretty long in the tooth....don't know if I will live long enough to see that.

...By all means get going! ♥

Im from Canada. Believe me , it isnt some socialist Valhalla. We do have more social programs and we pay a little more in taxes but its worth it. Canada has had its ass sold down the river too in the form of NAFTA and the NAU. The NAU is the real thing Americans should be looking into and defeating. I fear the corporate pigs have a firm foothold in Canada already. Most of the people where i come from hate corporate Americas guts and wish they would all fuck off and die. It might be all the plant closures for greed. It may be other American companies who buy plants here and try and tear up the union contracts and cut wages by 30 or 40 %. Those who do close up often try and sneak out of town without paying lawful severance and closing costs. It may be a total, obvious disregard for our labour laws and people too. take your pick. This is the face of America a lot of Canada sees now. Toss in 2 bogus ,US started, wars for profit dragging both of our economies to the ground. Most Canucks know. They will be coming after our health care sooner or later. I cant see many Canucks just lying down or rolling over and playing dead for it though.

???

There's not much more time for some of us. The economic burden on the middle class is breaking us in two.
*

I'm so sick of hearing about how it's all Obama's fault. Just how exactly is it all Obama's fault that we have traitorous Dems in our midst? Or that the Corporate media has gone all-out to destroy any chance at reform?
Do you actually believe that Obama can FORCE these DINOs to follow orders? Get real. These scumbags only care whether they keep their jobs in their jerkwater redneck states.
Yes, Obama hasn't pushed hard enough, but holy jumpin Jeebus, even in a thread about how Conrad has sold us out, the first words in so many posts are "I'm so sick that Obama sold us down the road...".
I swear to God, some of you sound like you really did think he was some sort of Messiah.

Not the President. Major Clue, here. Happy to be of service.

Nader was Right! There is NO difference between Repubs.and Dems.
they both Suck.

He might have been right - and I always knew there was truth in what he was saying - but he didn't help. Green party needed to start more grass roots - put candidates in at local levels to start and move them up. Lots of them. They didn't have a prayer just trying to grab the presidency every four years.

We need to find out just exactly which senators are for and against the public option, then go after the nay sayers with a vengeance.

What are you going to do when you find out? Taunt them? The elections are fixed. The corporations corrupt almost everyone who gets to Washington. Fundamentalists are running foreign policy. This is what results from years of apathy. The Saudis and Chinese communists are so intertwined in our government that we'll never get them out. We are owned and at the mercy of our owners. One must accept the truth of the matter before anything can be done to fix the problems.

Of course conrad would say this, he is on Fucks News afterall.... Has to play to the base, you know.

I became an Independent voter in '06 after the demoquacks showed impotency even after winning the house... in hindsight, that was a good move, and remains a good move, as even with a supermajority, the demoquacks continue to shoot themselves in the foot, arm, leg, heart...

I am so disappointed in our elected "leaders", who have sold out massively to the fascism that is more and more rapidly creeping into our government.
