With only days to go before the Iowa caucuses, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has become the latest GOP hopeful to be "glitter bombed" over his objection to LGBT rights.

As a campaign event in Johnston, Iowa Friday, a man tossed purple glitter at the surging Santorum, partly missing.

"Stop the hate!" the man exclaimed. "Taste the rainbow!"

"Thank you so much," Santorum said sarcastically, shaking the festive glitter off his hooded jacket.

With shoulders sparkling, the undaunted candidate continued shaking voters' hands.

"I so appreciate you standing up for the Christian values," one woman told him.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and a clinic owned by Rep. Michele Bachmann have also been targets of "glitter bombings."
