Glenn Beck: Ed Schultz is 'such a piece of trash'
Fox News host Glenn Beck Thursday accused MSNBC's Ed Schultz of having "no honor."
Beck was livid that Schultz reported Tuesday that the Fox News host had told his viewers that they needed to get a gun while appearing to motion toward a picture of President Barack Obama.
"This guy is such a piece of trash," Beck said on his Thursday radio show. "Do you not know how camera angles work, Ed?"
"He said that I pointed to the president's picture which was directly behind me when I said, 'Why do you need a gun? Because you got to prepare,'" he continued. "The camera angle didn't pick up what I just walked from which was the chalkboard which showed prepare, you got to do these things because trouble is coming."
"That is why I'm leaving television. There's no honor in it. No one is honorable."
Beck evicted honor the day he stepped before a camera. At least he admitted he wasn't honorable when he stated, "That is why I'm leaving television. There's no honor in it. No one is honorable."
I'm afraid as the end of his tv show approachs he is going to go even more insane as he tries to keep his audience following him to where ever hs pops up next. He'll be more dangerous without fox to rein him in once in a while.

Glenn Beck whining about anyone's "honor" is akin to George Wallace preaching the merits of Civil Rights.
when you consider the early history of each individual. Wallace and Beck both seem to have made their Faustian bargains to reach their places in history.
One major difference is that Beck started out as an asswipe clown and just reoriented his act to appeal to the basest ideology. Wallace actually started out with the potential to be somewhat open to civil rights...up until he lost his primary bid for Governor in '58 ( he was endorsed by the NAACP in that primary) and determined to ".... never be outni**ered again.". A technique the Repug party has integrated into their DNA.

I have a degree in Video Production, and I know a few things about camera angles.
I can tell you this: you were pointing at the picture of Obama and Sunstein when telling your viewers to get a gun to prepare for tough times.
If you were trying to point at the chalkboard, then maybe you should've looked at your monitors and/or changed which camera you were using. Or maybe you could've cut to the chalkboard, which IMO would have made narrative sense*. Because no matter what your intentions were, what Ed said was exactly right.

If Beck had praised Schultz, that would have been reason for some serious soul-searching to figure out where he screwed-up. There are some people whose approval would amount to a moral indictment. Beck is one of them.

...should be with the director of his program, not with Mr. Schultz. As everyone who watched the video can plainly see there was no chalkboard behind Mr. Beck when he made the statement. There was, in fact, a picture of President Obama and Mr. Beck appeared to be pointing at it. Then to compound this lie by stating that this is the reason he's leaving television when it's already been well documented why he's on the way out only serves to cement the idea that the man is wholly undeserving of anyones attention. Except, of course, perhaps that of a qualified psychiatrist. Good bye Mr. Beck.

Maybe Beck got an anonymous wake up call from someone in Federal law enforcement, telling him that he is treading very close to the line, First Amendment or not, and his CYA statement is sort of a (pathetic) excuse for his obvious provocation.
Then again, maybe Fox NC and News Corp. is getting nervous about some potential liability if someone takes Beck to heart, or just looking increasingly abominable to more and more of the public and thus continuing their downward slow spiral in the ratings war, and they had a little conversation with Beck telling his that he's on his own if any violence occurs as a result of his paranoid fantasies.

Camera angles don't explain how a picture of the president appeared behind you just as you were saying, "Why do you need to get a gun?". Even if you hadn't gestured at all, the implications of what you were saying would have been clear.

Ailes claims it's because Beck is moving into other directions, but Beck has been moving in other directions since he started his 9-12er army of shock troops. What was his Mass on the Mall last year but Beck moving in other directions? I think Ailes was lying.
