DeMint: It Will Be 'Hard' to Watch Obama's Job Speech

Tea party favorite Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) said Sunday that it was going to be "hard" to watch President Barack Obama give a speech on job creation to a joint session of Congress, calling it "pandering."
"I'm so tired of his speeches, it's going to be hard for me to watch," the South Carolina senator told CNN's Candy Crowley.
"I'm, frankly, very tired of speeches," DeMint repeated on ABC. "I don't want to be disrespectful to the president... I don't think the president is going to come out with things that are really going to create jobs. I'm afraid it's just pandering to his base. But if he'll send a written proposal, I'll give it every chance. But I'm not interested in his speech right now."

Actually, I shouldn't say that...because the plain and simple truth of the matter is that most Republicans don't even bother pandering to their base anymore. When it comes to proposals "that are really going to create jobs", the only suggestion which Republicans have been able to come up with over the past couple of decades is to beat the dead horse of tax cuts for the rich...which not only has clearly not worked but which has also played a significant role in creating the economic crisis crippling this country as well as contributing to the federal deficits which extremists like De-Mented have been decrying.
Never trust anyone who insists that patriotism requires you to blindfold yourself with the flag.
