LarouchePAC is producing the Obama/Hitler posters. While Larouche claims to be a Democrat, he's certainly not liberal (or Republican, frankly).
I saw these LaRouche people (and a lot of them are young!) with these signs and booklets about Obama being a Nazi and sh*t like that at the Steven Lynch health care town hall in Milton, MA earlier this month. I kindly said "thanks but no thanks" when one of them offered me a booklet. These. People. Are. Hopeless. Brainwashed. Morons.
I'm not even sure Ed Shultz and a lot of the media and TV viewers even realized that young woman who asked Barney Frank about Obama supporting "Nazi policies" during his much publicized town hall was a LaRouche girl.
And sadly, not only does Coulter not know LaRouche supporters are behind these signs, but neither do a lot of democrats/liberals (like Bill Maher and perhaps even presdient Obama himself).

I live in KY, and Clay County is known for being a hotbed of marijuana, meth, and moonshine production. The county has been featured on national news reports for years, because even those who are paid to enforce the law are involved themselves. The problem lies in the fact that barring a few exceptions, hardly anyone in the mainstream media is even remotely making an effort to refute or challenge what these people say. The longer that a message goes undisputed, the more likely it is that people will view it as having credence -- as Winston Churchill has been quoted as saying, "a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth gets a chance to put its pants on". Granted, there will always be a certain number of people who choose to believe anything Coulter et al. say regardless of the facts and for no reason other than cognitive bias, simply because they can't bear to consider the possibility that she (and therefore they) might be wrong. However, there's no logic in sticking one's head in the sand and pretending that these people will somehow lose their credibility and go away all on their own if we just ignore them -- there's a reason why they call that "magical thinking". There's also not much logic in trying to be above it all when your opponent is determined to fight dirty. While there's little or nothing of value to be gained by descending to their level, trying to ignore them and refusing to stand up to them is usually not an effective strategy for dealing with bullies. In many cases, the only way to deal with people like this is to stand up to them and make it clear that won't put up with it -- many bullies are paper tigers without much real courage who only prey on those people who they have reason to believe will let them get away with it. Like it or not, the truth of the matter is that a lot of people are listening to these wingnuts -- which makes it that much more difficult to have a reasonable and respectful debate. If more people in the mainstream media were doing their jobs and making an effort to challenge what some of these people are saying, then these people would start losing their credibility and get pushed out to the fringe where they belong.

This is a form of emotional guerrilla warfare, plain and simple...but this should be no surprise, given that Ann Coulter has never had either the courage or the integrity to acknowledge fully and publicly the hate which she clearly harbors towards Democrats and which is blatantly evident in every word she utters despite her frequent claims that it's "just a joke".
