Republicans seem to be viewing the nascent Obama administration with some dread, half expecting Democrats to do to them what they've been receiving for the past eight years and more. So unsurprisingly, Karl Rove seemed to be on Chris Wallace's mind Sunday when he interviewed David Axelrod of the Obama team on Fox:

Chris Wallace: Finally, you are going to be the new senior adviser to the president -- I don't know if you're going to like this comparison, but are you going to be the Karl Rove of the administration, in the sense of the intersection of policy and politics?

David Axelrod: I've never accepted that comparison. Look, my role with Barack Obama for the past six years has been to help the communications operation impart his message, his values and his vision to the American people, and I expect to continue to do that. My role is circumscribed to those responsibilities.

I'm not trying to build the Democratic Party or any of these other -- I think Mr. Rove had quite an expansive portfolio. I think mine is very focused.

I'm not a piece of crap. Karl Rove on the other hand...

Or maybe "I have no intentions of having Jeff Gannon/Jimmy Guckert stay the night with me in the White House."

Is Chris Wallace intimating that behaving like Karl Rove is not acceptable to the Party of Rove, The Republic Party, The Greedy Old Plutocrats, The Gross Old Perverts?

I see Axelrod is quite the diplomat, as well:

"...I think Mr. Rove had quite an expansive portfolio..."

rove was part of the dirty tricks corp way back during nixon...he was scum from the day he was born

a closeted self hating homosexual who now only gets joy in destroying other's lives and livelihoods

fux and sux. :-)

They consistently try to find an analogue on the "left" for every despicable criminal they've placed in a position of power over the years. So they can say "See, they're no different from us!"...nice try...and we're a center-right nation too....and 8.5 million votes isn't a mandate....keep the bullshit flowing, boys.

The man is a hooligan and a petty criminal. In the footsteps of Lee Atwater, he has push polled, fixed elections and implemented dog-whistles, employed whisper campaigns as well as any other dirty trick he could get his hands on. If there wasn't any executive privilege, the man would be in jail right now.

For Chris Wallace to legitimize Karl Rove like that is a travesty.

I'm glad that David Axelrod didn't fall for it.

Don Sieglman.

Good to see you, Ceci!! Long time, hon.

And nice to see you too, Ms. Joanne!!! :D

Just dropping in and reading the latest scuttlebutt. :)

Without the inclusion of members of Barak Obama's team, FOX TV (and any other snide show on the air) will loose ratings, and therefore loose money. It's do or die for these crummy scream fest shows.

I think we need to keep up the pressure on the crummy scream shows until they go away and their crummy network owners decide to hire real COLLEGE EDUCATED JOURNALISTS again to do investigative reporting on a separate not for profit budget for the sake of informing the American people. Without this model all we get is propaganda.

Which by the way, is illegal in the USA.

"Republicans seem to be viewing the nascent Obama administration with some dread, half expecting Democrats to do to them what they've been receiving for the past eight years and more."

I really wish you would mind your referents. We cannot tell from reading this sentence whether the Democrats or Republicans will be doing what to whom. This is a terrible sentence. Did you pass college English?
