If they are so safe why did the courts shield the manufacturer from liability in multiple cases. Last I checked 50,000 volts to a human could cause some damage. I'm not an electrician but I play one on TV.

All joking aside. This was some small black kid. He wasn't a 6 foot 200 pound gangbanger. These cops could have easily restrained this kid instead they chose to kill him. These tasers have made it way to easy for cops to believe that they are keeping themselves safe and NOT using lethal force. Amnesty International has documented over 300 cases where people have died using these so called nonlethal weapons. Sure, they are not as deadly as a bullet but deadly. You have no idea if the person has a heart condition where 50,000 volts will kill you. This isn't the fault of the police though. This is the manufacturer and the person training them telling them that it's safe. It's not.

Just watched the video

I made my first post before watching the video knowing the background on this case. I was actually surprised to here Mr. Palumbo defend this child. I was expecting to here him defend these cops. I thank god cops didn't have tasers when I was 16. I was a bad kid. Not bad as in drugs and guns. Bad as in stealing street signs or breaking teachers windows. I couldn't begin to count the times I ran from cops. If they had tasers 30 years ago I'd be dead today. These police departments need real training with these weapons. There's a time and place for them. A 16 year old 5 foot 2 kid is not it.
