GO DYLAN!

That's what I keep bloody saying. Could we perhaps just take a very, very brief respite from bombing brown people and get a serious space program together?
...I really doubt if Earth civilizations could handle dealing with beings from other worlds in a truly civilized way, much less qualify to be part of any federation that might exist.
But then again, I've wanted to help colonize Mars since I was nine years old ... too late now ... maybe in my next incarnation, if I get one...
that deserve the name, identified by how they do not rely upon force, coercion and fraud, should do just fine. Sign up your innocent friends and neighbors to extend civilization from yourselves, to begin your own civilized, space-worthy tribe.
Please don't call them brown people. They are just people like you and me, you are right we should not bomb anybody.
Nasa has been a big disappointment and with the shuttle program being discontinued and us going back to simple rockets, Dylan will have a long wait.
And obviously you did not get the joke regarding brown people.
Way to miss the joke.
As for NASA being a disappointment because of the shuttle - the shuttle was discontinued because it was a POS.
The rockets are better, until we get a real space vehicle.
The advances we could create with the dollars wasted on wars and military could change the course and future of mankind.
War and military actions are insane.
The paradise we could make by not killing people and instead controlling our populations through education...
What is with Dylan Ratigan? He was a CNBC pretty boy or something close to that. he had his own show and then had two shows. He was sell the stock market to the unsuspecting. Now he has found the truth? I don't watch his new show on MSNBC because of timing. These clips that I see here show somebody who seems to be able to think and not necessarily spew what GE would prefer he says. In a way he seems like the anti Scarborough. Or maybe the intelligent Scarborough.
How about a little help here.
If we are causeing so much hell and havoc on Earth, what makes him think we are ready for space. All that will happen is the same nonsense on a larger scale. You'll have governments and corporations fighting over who owns a star system.
Humanity doesn't have the proper mentality for space. Especially when it comes to the Western mind set.
We can't even produce a toaster in this country that doesn't malfunction and catch fire and we want to go into space. Yeah man that's the answer!
Well my toaster has been working fine for over ten years and its- oops, its Italian.
that wasn't made on Monday or Friday.
what day was this made and what time?
Country of origin, all parts also please.
For a friggin toaster? they don't have that info on toasters. cars yes toasters no.
I think that day of the week nonsense is a little old and over rated. I worked in some manufacturing and the day of the week had nothing to do with the quality of the product.
House fires kill lots of people, too.
What you guy's don't realize is the reason we don't make toasters here is because there's no money in it. However, there's plenty of money in spaceships. Dylan Ratigan is awesome he's the only one on the tube who gets it. somebody said in an earlier post he was over the top. As far as I'm concerned, whatever it takes to get the truth out is peachy.
Maybe the question one should ask is, "Are the workers at this company happy and getting paid fairly?"
Sometimes my toaster gets a little crumby but other than that . . .
Here is a WSJ article once again placing blame for the real estate crisis on the backs of poor people, ACORN and government programs to increase home ownership.
Incredible bullshit. So if these people didn't have homes the bogus derivatives the bankers cooked up would still be floating.
So would Bernie Madoff.
no money down just sign here and your set!

when they had jobs.
and paperwork also and the loan officers pushed the paperwork through with service and a smile anyway.
The loan officers told them HOW to lie!!
thought very hard or questioned how a 7-11 clerk was able to move into a brand new custom home.
A $400,000 house!
Flip it baby!
just keep repeating the talking points and it will become the truth.
You seem to be a little on the defensive this morning.
repeating republican talking points and now your calling me defensive. Hmmm, isn't that just like Fox?
there is always two sides to a story. Your saying if I'm not with you I'm against you or something? What kind of relationship is that?
The factual side and the "You can't believe your lying eyes side."
As a broker myself ... Every single licensed person involved with a SINGLE fraudulent deal should lose their license because of agency failure and ethics violations. It is ALWAYS the broker's job to due diligence and PROPERLY advise the client.
The military and banking industrial complexes...
are in control of your tax money.
Be thankful for "google earth" ...cuz thats as close (to space) as were gonna get!
hell of a lot better use of the tax dollar than war and corruption. I have my doubts about the maturity of our species. If there are advanced civilizations out there wouldn't we seem very petty and immature? We would be the equivalent of the teen driving down the street with his stereo turned up full blast rattling every one else's teeth and windows.
We're contained for everyone's safety out there.
But manned exploration is a waste of money. We get far more useful scientific data from unmanned exploration than manned exploration. I think there was a time in the 60's, when we were a growing, thriving economy that still had our own oil and still manufactured lots of stuff, when we didn't have a trillion dollar deficit to China, that it made sense to do manned exploration for the sake of exploration itself. But that time has passed. We need to have huge investments in new forms of green energy and other technology that will help us deal with global warming. Space won't do that.
You're just scared of space.
With NASA's recent discovery of water on the lunar south pole now is the time to place a permanent Moon colony and create a launch platform to Mars.
Two failed wars killing 100's innocents that would have been money better spend on universal free health care and a USG/ Wall Street Capo connection that continually question my patriotism as they red, white & blue wrap themselves in my tax dollar have me creating my own agenda...
The fuck the USA agenda!
Neither our Moon or Mars can support life as we know it. Mars might have once been able to support life, but its core is dead, so it lacks a magnetosphere: Any life we put up there would get bombarded by extremely high doses of solar radiation. MikeD (above) has it right. We get more bang for our buck with unmanned exploration.
And just because we don't throw away money supporting small colonies on celestial bodies that aren't exactly friendly to life as we know it doesn't mean we've got to spend the money saved on wars and the enrichment of plutocrats.
a colony on the moon or Mars? For what possible reason???
With all the problems on Earth, not a dime should be wasted on out of space travel- Whats the point of space travel? To bring back rocks? Earth has a plentiful supply of rocks. There are no 'little green men'- sorry folks, Earth IS the only planet with life.
The moon landing...if it really happened at all, was a waste of time and money...
depends on existing to experience it, so conquering disease, aging and death are where I'd put my productive efforts, were they not being forcibly extracted and diverted for pretended "higher causes."
Let's forget the moon, stay out of space, get out of the Middle East, stop bailing out car companies, insurance companies, investment banks, and use that money to secure our borders and start repairing the country's crumbling infrastructure.
I will never understand people who think we should travel to the moon, or vist other planets. We know everything there is to know about the planets, we've taken enough pictures....
I can speak here because I worked for the Space Program. There are many scientific breakthroughs that have come from the space program, both in the general public (the net for instance; bar codes for another), medical breakthroughs too, using tools from the space program.
However, the Space Program has historically been used ALSO as a program to stuff DISAPPEARING MONEY into. Where a program is classified, the money pit goes infinite... and unaccounted for.
Today's space program? It should be as limited as the paychecks of the American workers. When we are finished rebuilding our REAL ACTUAL infrastructure and our economic infrastructure, our political infrastructure, THEN we can continue the space program.
I would add one program: Instead of US leaving the planet, why don't we stuff shuttles full of Wall Streeters and Banksters and other criminals who have ruined our nation and send THEM to the Moon. They want to go? Send them. One way ticket of course.
Now that there's water there, let's all go water skiing on the moon!
Yes!!! To space AND also the bottom of the sea.
We aren't getting younger.
If it takes 20 years most of us alive now will start being too old to care.
With the proven, tested OTRAG system
(info here http://www.astronautix.com/lvs/otrag.htm)
we can go to the moon again TOMORROW and much cheaper than old Apollo rockets.
No more design delays are needed. They are simple to build. Let's get stuff up on the moon and on to some asteroids (easier than the moon) and start getting some human colonies going.
vivzizi
If only this would happen...
Had the moon landings really happened (which they didn't)...we should be able to sen men to the moon today, yet somehow we 'lost' that technology?
Honestly, most of the Hubble images are cgi graphics- i.e fakes.
The $ should be spent on earth, in the real world, to help real people-not be used to fund fictional projects

without anybody keeping track, and no one watching....
Is anybody awake yet?
Tom, you should really take off the tin-foil, it can cause problems if worn out in public. Now how about some real proof behind those accusations?
